What is the exact penalty for violating HubPages rules?
Is there a published write up on the exact penalty for certain infractions?
What are the rules and consequences?
For example, what is the penalty for self promoting a hub in a forum posting?
(Even though the content of the hub is directly related to the forum discussion topic)
How many days banned from posting?
No, I was not planning on it. It happened to me a few times in the past and I received different penalties. Just wondering what is the rule or guideline if any.
The only thing I have read at the FAQ is for the same offense the ban will become longer until a permanent ban occurs. Here is a link to what is not allowed in the forums. The first thing the list is promoting your article or websites. http://hubpages.com/faq/#forums-violations Below that they explain if banned and an attempt is made to post a notification will occur and there will be link to where the offense occured.
I just got banned for 2 days on forums - but can still obviously post on answers (trying to be good here) - I realize I was being mighty offensive
Yes, I noticed that also. Apparently, forums and questions are treated differently. I was banned from the forum for 7 days for self promotion is my guess. I was not notified until I try to post on one of my forums. I included a link to one of my hubs

... administer the forums?I asked a similar question in a poll in a recent Hub and though I had many views I didn't get many votes. Now I wonder are people afraid of the consequences if they post their votes or their views?

How do Hubbers get banned from forums?I've noticed people on Hubpages mentioning that they've been, or are being, banned from the forums. How does this happen? What rules do you have to break to get banned?

Life my friends tis a strange thing and it always makes me laugh. As that old TattoGuy I was granted access to the Forums but was banned again by a paranoid woman reporting me and I had a lot of emails supporting me on my reply to this person.Thing is yesterday this same coward who reported me left...

I'm thinking about putting together such a draft code of conduct. The basic idea is to make the forum rules more transparent and specific, which should make it easy for everyone to see what is allowed and what is prohibited. It would be voluntary for people to sign up to it, of course - at least to...

There are a lot of us who haven't been feeling safe on the forums. They've felt stalked, harassed and browbeaten.Sadly, some folks go with the letter of the law, but not the spirit of it in their posts. For an excellent post on why we need Forum Moderators, check out what Makingamark says here...
