What do you think are the 5 main problems that society today faces, in order of importance, and why?

    1. Overpopulation - too many people live in poverty and hunger.
    2. Greed - people want things, not peace
    3. Not enough education - we have ceased to learn as a society.
    4. No empathy - people no longer care for others
    5. Wars, guns, shootings, killings, crime - see 1 through 4 as the reasons for that.

Thank you Austinstar. Your choice would resonate with many. I see you are from Texas. Another Texan, Jim Marrs, a NY Times best-selling author, reckons everyone in the world could live comfortably in the state of Texas - http://tinyurl.com/ybvxqb6a

Jim Mars is wrong. Yes, they might fit here in the state, but live comfortably? NO, they could not. There would not be enough food, shelter, and other basic necessities for a comfortable life. And greed would definitely be a factor.

Abrupt climate change - the earth is becoming too hot to sustain life because of man-made pollution caused by the burning of fossil fuels.

Plastic pollution of the oceans - plankton are eating plastic microfibes and particles so the marine food chain is being destroyed.

Acidification of the oceans - coral reefs are dying and the oceans will no longer be able to sustain life

Overpopulation - there are too many people using up too few resources that are not finite.

Depletion of habitats - other species we depend on are dying, for instance, bees needed for pollination

Thank you for your answer Stella. "Climate Change", the environment and "overpopulation" are hot topics in the media. I agree the environment is precious, however, I DO NOT trust reports put out by the CONTROLLED mainstream media channels AT ALL.

Elena, I don't trust many sources either. I've reached my personal views listed in my five points after extensive research. My conclusion is, we've harmed the biosphere irrevocably. As a result, society will collapse and extinction will soon follow.

Hi Stella, I take stories from the media then check their accuracy using more reliable sources...check out this brilliant website "Natural News" - search for "sea levels" for an article by NASA, then "climate change cold icy". Misinformation abounds.

Thanks, Elena, yes it's 'sifting the wheat from the chaff.' If you'd like to Google Dr Guy Mcpherson, he's one of very few scientists who actually have the guts to tell the truth about how dire the situation now is regarding abrupt climate change.
