Long time since I’ve done anything here..

I was trying to edit an article and seem to have accidentally deleted a whole text capsule.

Is there any way to recover that and start over?

Unfortunately, no. Not through HubPages, anyway.

If it is an older article that is indexed you can see if you can grab your old text from the Google cache if it hasn't been re-crawled. Or see if the Wayback Machine has a copy.

    Thanks.

Oh well. I’ll try to recreate it later.

Always best to use word processing software and then copy and paste. You can always tweak your article online afterwards.
Similarly, make sure you keep a copy of the finished article for the future. Easiest way is to right click and then select 'save page as.'
As Eric has said, you may be lucky and find the original version in Google cache, assuming that the article was indexed.
      Good luck with this!

Fine persons of the Hub community gracing us with your presence here today and until this thread is beyond memory....

I have a question. My people are from lands where internet technological
aphorisms are not yet rumored to be ...like, things we should know.

So why with the glitches we all see at some point or another, be they here, or somewhere else - why would not servers save copies of things for some bit of a time for at least legal purposes?

I'm happy to see you, Mr. Phoenix. I bet soon after posting this reply I'll recall your actual name, as you are a memorable person. You couldn't hurt anything by messaging team@ or editors @ hubpages.com

Hey Tony, long time no see. How's everything? If you've not edited it for a long time, it's very likely that the waybackmachine has a copy or if that doesn't work, it's probable that someone copied your hub big_smile Find the copy and get your paragraph back.

Find it on Google and raid the cache. Welcome back! Hope you stay!

Edit. I see Eric beat me to the cache thing. Oh, well. big_smile

    Hey there, Pcunix!  LTNS!!

I hope you are well.  With Marketing Merit, I agree; I usually compose in Word, then copy/paste into capsules so I have an automatic copy.

    Best wishes!

I have found this is best for any writing. Doing this prevents accidental deletion and I like to work in a text editor more.  I personally prefer Google Docs but there are multiple options to choose from.
