How do I change my photo size?

   I got contacted by the editors, and they want to "promote" one of my articles up to one of the niche sites. Yeah! Sounds great! However, they want me to fix the size of the photos. They say the photos are "half-size" and they need to be "full-size". I don't know what that means or how to fix that.
   
   Can anyone help me with this?

      Try uploading from your computer again, to see if you get a different size. You are using your own photos and don't want to give those up, but they want the photos to stretch the same width as the text areas.
      
      You could get similar photos from Pixabay for free if you aren't able to adjust your own.

      Dear Diane,
                          In your computer right click on the photo. Select "edit". That is left click on edit. Select "resize" by left click on resize. Change size from 100 to 200. Save. Your photo size will double. Load this edited, resized photo in your hubpages article.

      Full size means full width.  The moderators wee supposed to automatically make all half sized photos full width by now.  I would email the team about this.  I make mine full size by using a photo editing program called Picmonkey.com which allows me to resize my photos.  I always make the smallest pixels 1000, so all photos are always full size.  Picmonkey used to be free but now charges $48 per year...worth every penny!

   I believe it has to do with the photos you start with and then upload to your article. You can't enlarge a photo and have a quality resolution. I am not a techie but found if I picked photos that are the right size, to begin with, all is well.

   If you took those photos several years ago with a camera that captures small images (few megapixels) you can not make them full size without being blurry. You need to go onto another site like Pixabay or Flickr and find some images of the birds you want. I am not sure if you can take another photo of the bird house by your gazebo, but if you can it should replace that small image.

   Other people have given you good advice, which I think you should try first. If that doesn't help, you could try creating a full-width collage containing smaller photos. The low resolution of individual photos in the collage may not be noticeable.

      I've done that (combining pictures to make a collage when they are too small). You can do it by putting 3 photos onto Facebook, then taking a screenshot of the 3 together on your timeline.
      
      Another way I make a collage is using the shutterfly templates. You don't have to buy them, just create, then save to your computer.

         Those sound like good ideas. I use an app called Pixlr on my iPad to create collages.

      A collage of pictures, viewed on a phone, is nearly worthless to a reader.  And they are the majority of the people that come to HP: desk sized screens and even laptops are losing ground every day.
      
      That's the reason for full width photos in the first place - to better the experience of a mobile user - and defeating the intent of the rule with a collage isn't doing that reader any favors.

   Some wonderful ideas posted by you all. My phone automatically creates collages sometimes. But, I do not use them. My phone shoots very large pictures by default (4160 x 2340 pixels). So, there is no need for me to worry.

   Hi everybody, I thank you all for your input. I wound up just reloading all the photos and it worked. I never did figure out how to do the double-click thingy. Anyway...SUCCESS!

      Best of luck getting that moved to a niche site. Be sure to check your other hubs that are getting traffic, making sure they have larger photos and are following the niche guidelines, and then submitting one to be moved every 15 days.
