    Folks:
    here I am once again asking for your help about things that are likely obvious to those of you that can see.  I have itemized the questions at the bottom of the explanations.  Nothing here is earthshaking but answers to the questions would be convenient.

    Ryan Hupfer apparently sends everyone a newsletter once a week that starts with their personal statistics such as, Here's an updated view of your Hub statistics:, Your Hubs have been viewed:, Your highest HubScore:, Comments posted to your Hubs:, and Number of fans:

    When I go to, "statistics" I do get some information but I do not get the above.

    While I am here I should point out that I have heard that Ryan a long with others I have previously mentioned, Paul, Fawntia and Lisa are largely responsible for me, who is totally blind, being able to use HUB.  I have previously tried to tell them how much I appreciate their efforts but I do not believe I had much success in proving it to them.  Many of you members have already done a great deal to help.  I appreciate it.
    /////

    When I go to, "my account" and then to the listing of my HUBS there are six numbers in the line.  The first number starts out as, "50" and from time to time increases to a high of 76.  I have little idea of how this number increases.  There are five numbers after this number.  From article to article there is a considerable variance in these numbers.  I assume there are titles above or to the side of these numbers.  If so my assistive technology can not read them.
    /////

    When I go to, "my account" then on to my HUB listings the word, "duplicate" appears by three of my 25 articles.
    ////

    When someone leaves a comment I get a mail asking me to approve it.  It seems as if that is just a formality as, I think, the comment can be seen I everyone anyway.  In any case I would like to have the system automatically approve all comments.  From the samples I have seen virtually all Hubbers are helpful and constructive.
    /////

    QUESTIONS:
    (1)  is it possible for us to get the same statistics Ryan gets any time we want them?

    (2)  what are the six numbers after the listing of each HUB for?

    (3)    What does the word, "duplicate" found next to a particular article mean?

    ((4) Can I turn on a permanent approval for comments?

    Thanks,
    Bob

      1) All those stats can be found on your Hub dashboard.
      2) Read the dashboard headings to find out what the numbers mean.
      3) http://hubpages.com/faq/#duplicate_content
      4) Yes, but you'll have to do it for each comment capsule individually.

      And if you have more questions, you'll want to read the FAQ,

    Hi Bob,

    Glad you are fighting your way through the system.

    Under the "your account" section the column headings for the 6 numbers are as follows:

    1)Hub score for that hub
    2)Number of comments
    3)Page views in last 24 hours
    4)Page views in last 7 days
    5)Page views in last 30 days
    6)Page views ever.

    Less likely for you, there can be two more columns added. If you put lots of photos on a hub a slideshow is offered to the viewer. This will result in columns 7 and 8. These are:

    7)Slide show views last 24 hours
    8)Slide show views ever

    Hope this helps.

    Feel free to ask any more questions when your program misses the info.
    I understand the errors that occur when a site isn't specifically designed to be friendly to these programs.

    Keep on a hubbing,

    McBean

    Hi Bob,

    I found out a few more answers for you.

    Regarding comments:

    The comments do appear before you have approved them but are removed if you deny them. By editing the comments capsule on the individual hub you are able to choose if you want them not to be shown until approved. There is not an option for automatic approval, but if you leave it on the default setting and don't bother approving, all comments will be shown anyway.
    Eventually you will start to get spam comments promoting unrelated sites so you may want to deny them. The hubpages community generally does not do this, search engine traffic does this.

    The duplicate message lets you know that the content appears somewhere else on the web. This is an automatic filter and if your hub contains a lot of direct quotes it may get flagged. I know a lot of the religious hubs trigger this feature due to Bible quotes. If no quotes are in your hub and it is original content, it generally means someone has stolen your work but cut and pasting it somewhere. There is advice on how to deal with this if you search the forums.

    I think that covers most of your questions, sorry for the rambling response, its a little early here in Australia.

    McBean
