It seems to be almost down to the level it was last year and never recovered much since the start of Q3. I reckon though it's probably because I'm getting a lot more views with lower CPM in addition to views with high CPM plus backouts from pages before ads load. The result is that it's pushing the average down.
Yesterday mine was about 1.50 more than the same day last month. Every day this month has been up. I think that you are right in that it is where the views are coming from.
Things seem always about the same for me. My CPM has been the same average since I started earning with the ad program. It goes up and down but stays about the same number.
My CPM is down at least 40% compared to 2 months ago. Still a CPM that is very good, but horrible compared to the good times
As I understand it, the CPM HubPages quotes is an average value for the past 24 hour window. So if CPM is variable per ad and there are lots of extra impressions with lower CPM, the average CPM is reduced. My impressions have risen a lot in the last month or so, not just views, but CPM seems to be almost proportionately reduced, so revenue is much the same. I'm not sure whether this is how it works?
That is how it works yes, but remember statistics. Even if you get more traffic, it's most likely the same kind of traffic, so technically you should not be making less due to an increase in traffic. It's just the ads that day pay less. I have my lowest traffic in the year right now, not tomato season in most parts of the world, northern nor the southern hemisphere. So on those terms I should have my highest CPM right now. Higher traffic does not imply lower CPM.
Come to think of it, I'm getting a lot more traffic now from India for my math hubs since students have returned from school vacation, and I think CPM is lower there? That may explain it.
Yes, geographical changes definitely affect it. Also, the source of the traffic if I remember right from some staff comments a few years ago.
I'm glad someone else has said this. This is exactly what has been happening to me. My views and impression go up, my CPM goes down and I earn much the same month after month. I wish there was a way to graph our CPM over time so I could get a more complete visual picture of what was happening. It tends to sap your motivation when you are writing new articles, working at SEO and marketing and watching your views and impressions go steadily up with no corresponding increase in earnings at all. I was spending tons of times working on articles and all the corresponding stuff that goes along with them the last couple of months but have fallen off largely lacking the desire to continue when I'm not seeing my earnings reflect my efforts. It's a bit depressing after putting so much work in over several years.
Hey, Lobo, I checked that URL in my HP and I don't see impressions listed on there. How come? It only shows dollars and nothing else. What am I missing?
Never mind. I figured it out. Thanks anyway.
I'm a little disappointed because I had my best traffic days ever last week and CPM's are good but have kind of flatlined.
If they were at the level they were a couple of month's ago I'd be ecstatic
It does make me wonder what was going on back then to make them so high and why that hasn't continued.
Other ad networks can provide higher CPM's so I wonder why HEP doesn't especially with their increased buying power.
Why does CPM always go up at the weekend? (or is that just my experience because I have higher views for my DIY/gardening hubs than during the week and views of education hubs go down).

What is your average CPM ?Those who followed hubpage ad program earnings knew that is a new tool that governs your revenues and that is CPM. since the beginning of June average CPM for me was 3.8 meaning I will earn 3.8 $ at each 1.000 impressions. I'm trying to see if this is around average or I...

So far, (Saturday 16th December 2024), this month has brought the lowest earnings by a huge margin for many, many years on Hubpages. Is anyone else experiencing something similar? What on earth is going on with this site? It used to be a really good sideline, but now it's hopeless.

Has there been another update from Google? I ask since my views have been dropping rapidly every hour since the past 6 hours. Surprisingly the total views in the stats has remained stationary since the same time.Stats on analytics do not show any abnormal drop in visitors or views. Are other hubbers...

Even taking into account Hubpages' share, with the amount of ads, shouldn't it be a multiple of views? I reckon, there should be about 6 impressions per article, but instead, there's only about .5 on average.

This month my CPM for the HP Ad Program is super low. It's been under $1.50 every day so far. And last month I had a lot of days where it was under $2. Wondering why that is and if it's just happening to me or if others are experiencing this as well.

I don’t think they did it on purpose, but I just saw on my feed an article which is almost the same as an article I wrote around a year ago. What do I do, comment on their article with a link to mine or just leave it? I don’t want to lose traffic but also don’t want to upset that person or make...
