Government in America

   Do you feel that there should be more government or less government in America?  Why? Why not?  To those who feel that more government is needed, do you feel that America need more government to regulate businesses & to help/protect the more vulnerable among us e.g. the homeless?   To those who feel that less government is needed, in what ways will less government be beneficial overall for America?

      I say more, to regulate Capitalism's excesses, the danger of encroaching oligarchy surrounds us, and the private sector can not be trusted not to take advantage.

   Take a good look around , What does government at any level run efficiently ? Highway crews ,  manufacturing space- craft ,  overseeing it's own employees ,  congress , highway infrastructure , Where do you think that the "$400 dollar toilet seat " term originated ?  If you went into a federally run 'sports bar' a beer would cost you $46.00 and it would take a week for your order to arrive.  But please give us more government ?

   As profits goes the Government get most of my money. We don't have enough billionaire and Trillionairs as Government are their top mercenaries. Give all your money to the Government make them larger than life itself. , Enjoy the world of not thinking and being taken care of in FEMA camps. Get a chip implanted in your our brain to become a more efficient factory worker.  Use your five finger girlfriends to romance yourself to sleep from your painful workloads.

   I think you mentioned two important issues Cred, but instead of more government - how about better government? We both know that no matter what is being considered; from chocolate to government, more doesn't always mean better.

      I see the direction that you are going in and I can agree with it. More efficiency less waste and abuse is something that we can all agree on. That is better.  But lesser, leaving gaps in areas that need regulation and control within our society is not good either. Depending on your perspective, "less" does not always mean better.

         Damn, we're batting 1000 Cred. I can also agree that less is not always better either. Now all we have to do is pin those aphorisms to particular issues.
         
         For regulations I think less can be better as long as they are also better regulations. Regarding regulations, I think we have a lot of junk, a lot of knee-jerk, and a lot of overkill regulations that could be trashed if other regulations were better.

            So, less where there is bureaucratic red tape processes that just add to the expense and serve no higher purpose or is redundant. I can dispense with that. But, watering down the authority of the EPA, for example, is one suggestion of cost cutting that for the most part I cannot abide.

         Concise, distinct and appropriate less-government is best,
         And state autonomy must be kept intact.

            I can not give more money to fat cats with very little conscious. Volunteerism is a far greater efficient system,  I've experienced within a few barter system eco villages. As long as we allow bankers and their greedy lawyer friends turn us into economy slaves.  We, (not counting me) deserve a total collapse of the empire soon.

            that depends on what that "less" is comprised of. I do not dispute that if less means more efficient that is fine, but just to cut governmental obligations to the general public because conservatives and capitalists want to rape society and take advantage, I am not for that.
            
            the idea of states rights is fine up to certain point, Federal law supersedes.….
