This is the organization that did nothing and take up space in midtown NYC...creates traffic jam... support dictators, and attack Israel for defending itself.
This is the organization that try to tax the world for climate change.
    The corruption is rampant.
They can laugh all they want but we are the benefactor of Trump’s policies.
My retirement fund is up 30% since the election of Trump.
I am laughing too ...all the way to the bank.
    Thank you President Trump.

It's really fun,  to be laughing with most of the rest of the world.
Trump is number one,  in being a comedian.

I'm sorry, but you have to be out-of-your-mind to think that Trump is right and the rest of the world is wrong.

Our President, got up on the world stage, made a ridiculous statement, and was laughed at.

      Am I missing something?

And how much was your retirement fund up after four years of Obama? I'd bet 100%. So by that measure (BY THAT MEASURE), Obama was a better President.

The world laughed at him because they were taking advantage of us for all those years. You got be joking taking side with the world who thinks of the US as chums. We have nothing to be sorry about.
This is a strange world we live in. We have Americans defending a failed wolrd organization making fun of an American President standing up for America first for a change.

When Obama goes on a world apology tour, everyone praised him...
        Give me a break.

Usually, when you have one person in a room who thinks he's right and a few hundred who think he's wrong, they take the one guy who thinks he's right, put him a straight-jacket, and send him off to crazy camp.

You have to be delusional to come up with the conclusion you have. The laughter was made in direct response to Trump's statement that his administration had accomplished more than any other administration in history. It's a ridiculous statement and the UN laughed at him for it.

It has nothing to do with any previous relationship or any advantage other countries may have been taking of the U.S. Trump made a very specific statement and the UN had a very specific reaction.

Just one of the big picture. It depends on how you view the UN. If you think the UN is this great body that is keeping world peace and all that good stuff like fighting climate change...

For me, the UN has never lived up to its ideal. Unfortunately, the reat of the world are fooled into thinking otherwise.

                  Crankalicious,
I apologize for going off on a tangent but the UN is a pet peeve of my. I guess I am just outraged by a body that place judgment on us as a nation, who funds most of their operations, and has done little to fulfill their duties.
I may have used this one occasion to lash out at them.
My main point of this forum, they have no right to laugh at our President who is trying to do the right thing for America and in trun for the world.

The UN did not "place judgement" on the US. it did "place Judgement" on the president of the US who simply ignores facts to the extreme.
Don't confuse the US with the president of the US. These are two different things altogether.
And as the laughter was spontaneous, even more painful for Mr. Trump, It tells something about Mr Trump and how he sees himself and how others see him.
He simply deludes himself and apparently really things he is the greatest president of the US who ever lived. This is in one word, ridiculous, hence the laughter.

            Here is the problem...
We all been told by the media how bad Trump is...
The problem is, he is not the person they portrayed.
As bad as he might be as a person, an egotist..., a pompous ass...
            a womenizer...
He has done some very specific good things for the USA.
I can list them if you like but they were well documented.
The economy is top of the list.
Jobs, bringing manufacturing back, bringing investment back, neutralizing ISIS and attempting to draini the swamp in DC...all great things.

So I guess one person’s accomplishment is anothers failure...

Here is the article from CNN -

(CNN)US President Donald Trump came late to the podium at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday morning. And within moments, he had the gathered world leaders laughing.

By the time he finished, it was a far more somber mood in the hallowed chamber, in which Trump himself said "so much history has transpired."
But on this day, he was making a history of his own.
The levity he sparked so soon into his address came, perhaps, because he was doing exactly what his audience had come to expect -- plenty of ego; little humility: "I stand before the United Nations General Assembly to share the extraordinary progress we've made. In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country."
He boasted that America is stronger and more powerful than ever before: "Our military will soon be more powerful than it has ever been before. In other words, the United States is stronger, safer and a richer country than it was when I assumed office ... We are standing up for America and for the American people."...

You have to wonder which side is CNN cheering for?

This is the first time I can remember that the UN laughed at the president of the US spontaneously.
      It tells a lot.
It tells us that the UN is not buying that super-ego talk with superlatives. greater, more, best, finest etc. (like a tv commercial)
It tells us that Donald Trump has no clue about world politics.
It's difficult to work with a president who is incapable of working together.
President Trump sees himself as a great statesmen, the best the US ever had...Well, I'm afraid many leaders around the world have a different perspective.
It shows us the narrow minded simplicity of the views of a president of a great country. No wonder the UN couldn't help themselves and started laughing.

    1. crankalicious profile image89

Holy cow! The depth of your ignorance of foreign affairs is off the charts. The U.S. has contributed to the national security of other nations because it's in our national interest that they not be invaded. We have also contributed to that national security so that we can have bases overseas and set up missile systems to protect against nuclear attack and warn us if a nuclear attack is in progress.

Such a situation exists in South Korea, for example, which Trump wanted to move to Portland, but had to be dissuaded by Jim Mattis. That "national defense" as you call it, allowed us to be warned of a nuclear attack from North Korea, but Trump wants it removed to Portland, where it will take more like fifteen minutes to know about a pending attack when it will be too late.

The irony of all this is that I'm actually pretty sympathetic to the position you're taking. We need to be more judicious about who we give money to. However, we usually do so because it's in our national interest.

That is not true and you know it. We have given money, medicine, food and other stuff to third world countries and some were not for merely political gains or self preservation as you claim.
I wrote about this in my autobiography since as an immigrant from Taiwan, I and my family personally benefitted from the generosity of the US and its people. In the cases of natural disasters, our military were the only ones equipped to help as with earthquake ans tsunami and hurricanes around the world. Our people through private donantions have given generously to the red cross, catholic charities and a host of other non profit organizations. The gates foundation has helped with medicine and immunization shots in Africa and else where. We under Bush admin. gave HIV drugs to combat AIDs in Africa...I can go on and on...

Here is one perspective the media in the USA missed -
      https://amgreatness.com/2018/09/25/trum … t-the-u-n/

My favorite lines from this article:

“This is not the usual language of diplomacy. It is the frank argot of truth: a tongue rarely heard in the echo-chambers of the United Nations with its squadrons of translators who translate clichés from one language into another swiftly, accurately, and inconsequentially. How refreshing—though admittedly, how startling it must have been to hear someone deliver an entire speech without lying.”

Castle , For a ideology that declares itself the all inclusive , all understanding , all knowing , all open minded , all open intellectualism , I've not ever  quite known a people who instantly declared Trump as having mental issues as your party has done .

Trump is a street fighting New Yorker ,  how is that a mental defect? Believe me , I have an aversion to street fighters  , or at least an envy of the brilliance of some of their survival skills , in that sense Trump is brilliant , a street fighter has no pity on P.C. fighting , he will not usually back down when challenged ,  he will defend his honor ,his wife's honor , his family and people's honor .

The representative political leader of the left is anything but that , they must cow-tow to the media masses ,  they will hide in the face of adversity , at least until the cops arrive and bolsters their group
thought sense of confidence .   I would way rather an independent righteousness lead us away from  the Obama weakness' than not anyday .

Your party simply cannot predict or dictate to Trump  through intimidation , for instance Obama 's bowing to the foreign leaders flowing robes . your party also ignores the Obama classless ignorance in and of official protocols like at the funeral of Nelson Mandela as the Obama's attended  " taking selfies " .

I live in the suburbs of Manhattan most of my life. Since the 1970s, Trump have built the Wolman skating rink in central park and many high rises on the West side and Hotels and golf courses. Therefore, your statement is a lie and easily proven. You need to quit while you are ahead. All you need to say is “I hate Trump no matter what” that says it all. No need to go into a long diatribe.

I've been in the same circle in the entertainment businesses of Trump. Built several mini putts courses, 17 world record scale snowplaygrounds grounds and so on. Had as many as three crews going on, at the same time.

Sometime I vs. Trump most often, builds golf course or rinks and so on, were more personal gain than public good. Except, Trump would claim save the day on public projects when it turns out that he didn’t hold up his end of the bargain, and the city ended up holding the bag. As I personally experienced, except he gets only to screw me once. As I, give back free advertising because at lawsuits he is the world champion.

Bozo Trump also falsely claimed after that embarrassing propaganda meeting with Kim Jung Un that there was no more danger from N Korea while N Korea continues to work on their Nuke Program:

There are NO real deals with Mexico or Canada, these are just delusions in Bozo Trump's little mind:

So, in other words, if the economy is going well, whether or not a SCOTUS nominee raped somebody or engaged in three-ways or is an alcoholic is not relevant?

Personally, I'm positive every Democrat or liberal on the planet is an alien, out to abduct humans and perform anal probes on them.  We must lock them all up without parole.

Will you now hop to it and do that?  The claim is made - will you participate?

So I take it you do not believe her allegations either, Wilderness? Is she not credible? Are the allegations against him about his drinking not credible?

I get what your saying - a single accusations should not be enough to derail a SCOTUS nomination, otherwise, any accusation, no matter how ridiculous, has to be taken seriously.

That said, it would seem that Republicans would never prosecute any rape case and generally don't seem to believe rape allegations unless they involve blood. It's a wonder any rape cases get prosecuted.

And that said, a false rape allegation would definitely be something I would not want to have happen to me or anyone I know, but then, perhaps men should not get drunk and put themselves in a position to rape somebody.

I didn’t say that. But that was exactly what happened in 1997 with Bill Clinton. He was impeached with all sort of evidence of wrong doing and because the economy was good and he was a supporter of abortion, he was exonerated and remained in office. I remember even watching an interview of a women activist talking head at the time who said she would gladly get doen on her knee and give him a BJ... I could not believe how low they would go.
So here we are in 2018, when a judge is smeared and destroyed with so flimsy evident and the word and memory of a women of events 36 years ago...brcause he is a conservative and believe in the life of the unborn.

That is EXACTLY the connection you made.

It doesn't matter if a woman is raped as long as the economy is good. It doesn't matter if a SCOTUS nominee lied as long as the economy is good because the president knows what he's doing and this must be a good nominee.
