It may very well be. I love honey and eat it every day. I use it as a replacement for sugar in my tea in the morning.  One reason I donât prefer sugar over honey? Find out HERE.

Theres an amazing thing that happens though when you mix this marvel of nature with another amazing plant creation, and their benefits working together, is really incredible for us.

Even though honey is sweet, taken in the right dosage, even diabetic patients can take it as a medicine, without any harm. In fact, honey can be used for many diseases without any side effects.

Think about this for a minute Honey is the ONLY food on the planet that will not rot or spoil.

If left alone long enough in a cool dark place it will crystallize, but sitting it in some hot water will liquefy it again and return it to its original state. You should never boil the honey OR put it in a microwave. (It will kill the enzymes.)

If you add Cinnamon to Honey, you have a natural medicine that is amazing for several diseases. Researchers have proven that if you substitute a paste of honey and cinnamon, instead of jelly and jam on your toast, and eat it regularly for breakfast, it reduces cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Even if they have previously had a heart attack, regular use relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat.

Various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that even though arteries and veins lose their flexibility with age, honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.

Arthritis patients can take a cup of hot water with two teaspoons of honey and one teaspoon cinnamon powder daily for chronic arthritis. If taken regularly, even chronic arthritis is cured. Doctors at the Copenhagen University found that when they treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon honey and a half teaspoon of cinnamon powder, within one week, 73 out of 200 people treated were totally relieved of pain and within a month, almost all the patients who could not walk or move around, started walking without pain.

Two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and a teaspoon of honey, in a glass of lukewarm water, will destroy germs in the bladder.
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of cinnamon powder, mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, were found to reduce the cholesterol level in the blood by 10%, with two hours. If arthritic patients take this three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. Some research has shown that taking pure honey with food every day relieves complaints of cholesterol.

When you are suffering from cold symptoms, taking one tablespoon lukewarm honey with ¼ teaspoon cinnamon will cure most chronic coughs and clear the sinuses.

Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures a stomach ache and also will clear stomach ulcers from the root. Studies done in India and Japan reveal that gas in the stomach is relieved when honey and cinnamon are taken together. Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey, taken before food, relieves acidity and helps digest heavy meals.

Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of honey strengthens white blood corpuscles to fight bacterial and viral diseases.

A scientist in Spain proved that honey contains a natural ingredient which kills the influenza germ and saves the patient from flu.

Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken on a regular basis, arrests the negative side effects of aging. Take four spoons of honey, one spoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of water and boil to drink like a tea. Only ¼ cup, three to four times a day, keeps skin fresh and soft and slows down those aging effects. Even aged people have been known to start performing chores like a much younger person again.

Some get relief from pimples using three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon cinnamon powder paste. Apply the paste directly on the pimples before sleeping and wash it the next morning with warm water. Done daily for a couple weeks, the root of the pimple is removed.

Skin infections are said to improve, using honey and cinnamon in equal parts, applied to the infected areas. Eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections can be cured.

Weight loss is also a benefit using honey and cinnamon powder, daily in the morning before breakfast, on an empty stomach and at night before sleeping. If taken regularly, it will reduce the weight of even an obese person. Also, drinking this combination will not allow the fat to accumulate in the body. (Talk about the ultimate natural weight loss formula.)

Research in Japan and Australia has discovered that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones can be cured successfully. By taking one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month, three times a day, amazing things happened for the cancer sufferers.

Recent studies have also shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful than detrimental in strengthening the body. Research with senior citizens has shown that taking honey and cinnamon in equal parts, gives them more flexibility and alertness.

One doctor says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon around 3PM, when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a week.

People in South America gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

Hearing loss is said to be restored by daily intake of honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts.

Um, no it wouldn't. Mostly because NONE of these studies had sufficient controls, peer review, nor are really supported by solid data. These statements are absolutely ridiculous!!!

Please, oh please, show me ONE study that received peer review. Hey, I'll settle for a double blind placebo controlled study that cites ANY of these results!

Oh, and raw honey should EVER be given to young children. Children used to die of botulism (occurs naturally in many honeys) because their immune system isn't as sophisticated as an adults.

you're right, very young children should not consume honey. my son's pediatrician cautioned me about honey when he was little. i like honey and most people (including me) don't blindly accept what anyone types as fact. i thought it was interesting. at least it's not pictures of half-naked women...plus anything made by fabulous creatures like honeybees has got to be good for you wink

An old bee keeper said to me once that the best honey is honey that has not been heated and has only been filtered sufficiently to remove bits of bee.  What to look for is cloudy honey...hold a jar up to the light.  The reason is that most of the nutrients in honey are in the pollen, and it is the pollen that makes honey appear cloudy.  Heavily filtered honey will be virtually clear and look great, but will have little nutrient value.
Kind of makes the humble bee the best food producer.
