Boy oh boy we're so pleased we now don't have to worry about NK any longer because Trump stalled their plans. NOT!!

They've continued to expand and update their nuclear weapons and missile facilities, and in fact, satellites have recently discovered previously unknown bases just for this purpose. DT only kissed up to the dictator like does with all strongmen tyrants. He seems to be envious of their total control of their countries.  Big surprise!  tongue

Nothing to see here for me, as I expected we'd find this out sooner than later.  Trump does believe he can succeed where others have failed with NK, and  it seems he's been proven wrong.

Randy, if reasonable is possible in even a remote part of your mind can you explain why you expect more from NK under a Trump presidency than we got under any presidency during his lunatic father'and his reign?

They make gestures intended to look like softening. The West, forever hopeful,  takes a baby step forward. They prove themselves liars, the West steps back again.

Is that your grandpa's picture? Maybe you are just too young to know the drill. Trump did what he should have in that moment, South Korea stepped forward, like a good neighbor should.  Unless, it is your contention that other leaders who have opened a dialogue with NK were just kissing a##, you look like a person grasping for reasons to rant.

You're right. It isn't a surprise that NK, once again, lied and reneged.

What is different this time is that, in the process, Kim Jong Un got something he always wanted and other world leaders would never give him:  a place on the world stage. Icing on the cake was fawning adoration from a U.S. President, to boot. "We fell in love."

Also what is different is Trump's ridiculous declaration that he had solved the NK crisis and "some people" say he should win a Nobel Peace Prize.

Lastly, and the biggest and most embarrassing difference, is that Trump was played like a violin by a two-bit murdering dictator. "I make the best deals."

Trump is too much like a needy child to ever be able to successfully negotiate with a manipulative dictator.

Good points all, but like me, spittin' in thuh wind!

Don't forget the cancelled war games NK wanted.

What did NK gain? You say a spot on the world stage. Did Trump give him that, or SK? Because if no one else had been involved, do you think those two leaders speaking would have not been news? Do you think the Olympics would have not been news? If you think that, you've got an over developed sense of the value of us.

Trump has always been laughable, as a speaker. We fell in love is no less ridiculous than calling him rocket man, but no more so.

I didn't expect NK to stick to any real concessions. They never have. And I worry about SK, because their president wants normalized relations so badly and I fear this will all end poorly.

But, again, Trump did the only thing a president can do. He reached out. Yeh, he's clumsy. He put up a good effort of sounding optimistic, in his goofy way. But what, exactly, did we concede? Nothing. What did we gain? The whole world witness to their lies and deception

Hating Trump must get tiring. All those hoops.

We conceded competence, strength, and respect in exchange for buffoonery, braggadocio, and derision. I don't hate Trump, I just see him for exactly what he is. If Obama or any other American president behaved that way with a murdering dictator...well, you know the answer. Remember Obama's head now to the Japanese emporer? He was called treasonous for that. I haven't even approached that kind of criticism and Trump's behavior was much more egregious.

But, hey, keep on excusing and denying your lying eyes. The rest of us aren't buying it.

My lying eyes? That is the best you can do, just insult me, personally? Oh. That's right. It's you pp. Of course that's all you can do.

But don't worry pp. It isn't long before the presidential primaries. That creepy porn lawyer plans on running so there's someone to fit your standards.

Didn't DT tell you to not believe anything you see and hear negative to him? It's the same thing as not believing your lying eyes, LTL. But you seem to get indignant when you are guilty of obeying him.

Geez, it's a common saying and I did not intend to insult you but point out how often you and other Trump defenders deny or excuse what is  right in front of you.

It is no worse than you claiming my observations are based solely on hate but I can take your inaccurate assessments and continue the dialogue. You insult me and "the left" almost daily but somehow you're purer than me. [Shrug]

I've never heard the expression. You insult me and then pretend it didn't happen. I can certainly understand why.

Why is it so difficult to explain what well known sayings mean to some folk, especially those who act superior to others? I suppose the only thing they have in defense of DT is the left's hatred of him. They confuse hatred with disdain.

Perhaps it’s just the way it was worded but let’s be clear - South Korea “stepping forward” has been happening for a long, long time and was not contingent on Trump playing peacemaker.

Of course I didn't expect Donnie to keep his word, LTL!  Do you?  lol  Anyone, having any knowledge about NK's past, could've  told Trump what to expect--and did so-- and he claimed he headed off a nuclear war with his visit there.

Trump had both houses of congress and accomplished nothing with his lies and bluster. Remember "Little Rocket Man"? Sure you do!

And I hope your picture is not really you, LTL. But I'll admit you do seem a bit "catty" at times. tongue

As far as my reasons to rant--by your judgment--what's your excuse?  When I see a corrupt person ruining my country, somehow it seems the right thing to do. And it's my privilege as well.  smile

We now live in a dangerously absurd, hopefully God willing, very brief, beyond dysfunctional era where a vicious dictator from anywhere in this world can simply turn on his or her television with feed from the USA, and watch Donald John Trump reveal his every inner thought, emotions and angry intent 24/7: In the past, our enemies were forced to employ spies to get the very same intel on our so called leaders that they now get for free with a simple cable hook-up: UNREAL:

And then there are actually some individuals out there who actually wonder WHY every enemy of ours can manipulate and mold the orange elderly man purely at will?

Bozo's constant twitter rants are a road map into his little twisted mind and every enemy our there is taking maximum advantage of him and his daily ramblings:

After two insane years of Bozo Trump antagonizing a nuclear power in N Korea, the only tangible result has been Bozo voluntarily discontinuing OUR MILITARY exercises in the region: I'm sure Vladimir Putin is proud of his little asset:

Do you wonder why our "leader" didn't smile the whole time in France except when Putie arrived and gave him the thumbs-up? What  an embarrassing smuck we have not attending the ceremony at the  WW1 cemetery.

I don't hate him, but abhorrence is not far off at this time!

Aime , The difference today ,  I don't hypocritically expect more "manners " from those who're at the helm of the ship than the average seamen [women] .  If you want to teach mannerisms to your children ,shut off the nightly news , don't let them read Real Clear Politics , watch CNN or Rachel Maddow , clean up your own house first .
