What makes some socioeconomically lower income, able bodied & functioning adults believe that others who are more socioeconomically affluent should give them a more comfortable lifestyle? Why do such adults maintain that the rich & middle class should financially support them? These are the adults who envy those who are more socioeconomically successful than they are. However, these adults refuse to make the sacrifices necessary to pull themselves out of poverty. They want what others have but aren't about to work for it! They use others, especially more successful family members as ATM machines to foot their bills. This attitude explains why more successful people if they come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds disassociate themselves from their families.
These people never got the appropriate experiences in their early lives leading to personal strengths.
The development of personal will-power, from within, through the joy of life, really starts before the age of three.
Children need freedom within boundaries. The environment must contain knowledgeable adult guides and educational activities, projects and endeavors.
And children must have at least one stable adult in their lives, who they can bond to through love.
Not sure there is a better example of victim hood than this.
You do not understand. Early development DOES
M A T T E R ! ! ! ! !
How can you, who have been a successful father, deny it?
Implicit in the statement is that one cannot improve themselves, as adults, without someone else doing the work. I don't swallow that.
I am not saying we should hang ourselves on a hook if someone in our early lives hindered us in our efforts to become self-realized and independent.
But it does put a crimp in the outcome of our psyches ...
and this must be worked out as adults.
and of course, can be worked out ...
based on ... what efforts would YOU say, wilderness?
Are you asking how to improve your station in life? Education comes to mind, with a willingness to work and risk. Good choices, made with an eye to the future rather than the right now would be helpful. A willingness to do what is necessary - change locations, give up gang membership, stay within the law would all help as well.
give up gang membership? stay within the law?
... and what if that life-style is all you know?
what if Crime is more lucrative than an ordinary job?
which it often is ...
and a successful life of Crime is congratulated by those people around you in your world?
If it's all you know, you learn a new life and leave the old one behind. It's difficult that believe that anyone actually believes a gang membership is a long term ticket to a better life.
You you find crime more lucrative than an ordinary job, and refuse to leave the crime behind, you will live behind bars. And only an idiot thinks it will last forever (there are lots of idiots in the world).
... created by by childhoods The first six years are indelible.
See, I don't accept that your childhood sets your aspirations, your goals or your attitude for life. People can change, particularly if they want to.
Growing up poor, in a family that doesn't appreciate education and lives off of charity may limit your chance of becoming a billionaire, but it needn't, and doesn't, preclude earning a decent wage and accomplishing that house in the suburbs with a comfortable life.

However, It IS true that:
Ineffective, negative and detrimental parenting/education can lead to victimhood when USED as an excuse for failing.
I am saying we can prevent victimhood.
I am saying we can help others OUT of detrimental parent/education (early environment) - induced victimhood.
It does happen. We need to address the problem consciously.
