I would love to see a restriction which doesn't allow visitors the option of stealing the content or images here on Hubpages.

If the option to highlight text or right click on images was disabled, could it stop or slow down the chance of content from being stolen on here.

What I have been told is that the right-click disabling is annoying to many readers and that those who want to steal content will find a way around it unfortunately.

        That's disappointing and very true.

Disabling the right-click is ineffective as this is not how content is copied en masse. Content is scraped with bots and posted to auto-blogs. It is not a manual right-click, copy and paste operation.
Even if the right-click was disabled, you would only need to view the 'page source' to be able to copy everything.
There have been many discussions about this in the past and, as Alexadry said, it is frustrating for genuine readers who may only wish to copy a quote, or part of the article for their own personal use.

I wasn't aware that it was that high tech. They really are lazy. It's a pity that it's so easy for them to copy content. Something has to be developed to stop then doing this in the future.

It's very disappointing. I too hope one day something comes up to fight this, like perhaps a Google warning upon publishing anything telling those trying to plagiarize that their content cannot be submitted to search engines because it's duplicate. Google may never do this, but at least I hope one company will step up one day to offer something like that. Maybe, I am just dreaming...but I would even pay for such a service.

A website in Russia has copied my articles and created a whole website based on my content and pictures and I have been unsuccessful in taking the content down. Next, I am planning to pay a company to track the hosting company down, yet even with that, there are no guarantees I will succeed.
