    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!
Here is my article: It Chapter 2 Movie Review (must be signed in to view)

Here is some feedback I hope you will find useful:

      1. The title is too vague and does not tell you anything about what the hub is about. I have not seen the movie and perhaps "You'll Float Too" is a reference to a line or something in the movie. But it is unlikely anyone would search this term. Plus if they have seen the movie they do not need to read the review. So use a title which explains what your article is about.

      2. Your hub is too short and is thin on content. You should spend more time discussing the plot and why that particular character is great, or something. Just saying that you liked the movie and give it 3.5 stars lacks depth. For example what are your criteria for how you award stars? If you have a set of criteria, apply them to the movie and discuss how it earned or did not earn a certain number of stars.

      3. add subheadings and more content such as a youtube video

      4. check your grammar. Stuff like this will get you disqualified: "makes there blood oath" (it's "their")

      Hope this helps

    Hello Michael:

My first comment is about the title of your article. You need a title to any article that is search-engine friendly and tells the reader about the article’s overall theme and content. “You’ll Float Too” does not meet this criteria.

Next, you do not make it clear to the reader at the beginning what your article is specifically about. Your opening sentence reads: “It chapter 2 picked up where one left off.” What does “It chapter 2” refer to? (OK, I Googled “It chapter 2” and see that it refers to a film.) However, not everyone is going to automatically know that.

In addition, the titles of movies must be in italics in order to follow APA guidelines. Also, you did not capitalize the word “chapter” in the film’s title.

Next, the article is filled with run-on sentences and other grammatical issues. For example, your concluding sentence does not have a period.

What Gregory wrote plus there are grammar errors and the piece is way too short.

Also, movie reviews have almost no chance of attracting traffic away from Rotten Tomatoes and the IMDB.

I agree with Gregory. Also, the article is too short. It should be at least 700 - 1000 words.
Reviewing movies is a competitive market. I suggest reading what your competition is writing, such as Variety, Hollywood Report, Forbes, and The Guardian.
    Follow this format:
Introduction: Tell the reader what they are about to read.
Body: Tell the reader about the movie and any back story or interesting facts about the movie.
Closing: Sum up the article, and tell the reader whether or not they should see the movie and why.

Kenna, what do you think of the IMDB site? Is it a source authority like the other sites you mentioned? When I Googled “It chapter 2,” IMDB came up #1 in the SERPs. I’m not surprised either. They’ve been online since 1995.

Gregory, IMDB is a resource site, so I am not surprised about the high ranking. I love it and use it all the time for my movie blog.
Their reviews are from fans. Rotten Tomatoes is a better site to view competition because the top reviewers are listed for each movie.

Kenna, thanks for clarifying that. Yes, Google looks at them as an authority domain, which helps them in the SERPs. Plus, they’ve been around since the web was still wearing diapers.

Also, your profile page is full of grammar errors. For example, “I lived in North East all of my life” should read: “I’ve lived in the Northeast all of my life.”
