    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!
Here is my article: Beat the Heat and Save Big: How to Slash Your Energy Bill and Stay Cool All Summer Long

Hi Mister Gabriel Cueto. I saw your article in Home Improvement. Congratulations. It is a great article. I live in Miami. You are so right. We need to find ways to reduce electricity bills and at the same time stay cool. Good advice. We are growing threes around the house. New ac, good insulation. Except for our living room. Someone suggested adding these heavy covers on the regular roof. Any ideas for the living room.?

Thank you for your comment. I think you are on the right path for lower energy bills. I can't figure out what you mean by this "Adding these heavy covers on the regular roof." One of the most challenging ideas to lower our energy bills is the correct way to use our appliances. #1 Our A/C and #2 our washer and dryer.

The A/C should never be turned off unless we leave the house for more than 2 days. When leaving for work, just adjust the temperature so the A/C unit won't kick in as often to keep the house cool as we were in the house. When coming back from work, gradually lower the temperature until reaches the desired temperature, otherwise, all the energy-saving effort of the day will be lost since the A/C will be running non-stop until reaching the temperature you are comfortable with.

Your washer and dryer generate heat and that heat is pumped to the house and the A/C will do its thing.

About laundry, I ONLY wash and dry after 9 PM. This will help the A/C not to kick in as if we do laundry during the hottest hours of the day. You may think this is crazy but I do this; I do laundry once a month, Yes, it may take me 4 hours but it's only once a month.

I hope this can help you more.

This is a great article. But the title is too long, more than 10 words, and had no conclusion, and a source.

Your article has some great tips. As others have mentioned, you need to shorten your title. You also need to credit your photos. As Brenda mentioned, you could put photos above each section. I suggest making these changes, then resubmitting your article to Dengarden which is one of Hubpages niche sites.

This might work as a magazine article where you have a captive audience, but on the Internet,  you're competing with hundreds of thousands of articles saying the exact same thing as you. I actually have an old article myself called 50 Ways to Stay Cool in Summer, lol!

    Here are some tips:

    - The purpose of Hubpages is to create content that will get read, primarily by Google users. Try for a more niche topic, so you can rank high in Google and get traffic. For instance, instead of a very generic list of ways to beat the heat, narrow down into ONE way to beat the heat, and explain how to do it. Choose a topic where there aren't many guides, so you can rank at the top of Google.
    - Your title has way too many stop words (words Google doesn't even see). Words like: "beat the and big how to slash your and stay all long" are all generic words that could match a thousand topics. Think about how you can prioritise synonyms and very topical words in your title.
    - Reference the source of your images and ensure you are legally allowed to use them (the top one is from an Australian Government website). Assume ALL images and online content are copyright unless stated otherwise.

The structure with the lists and colons resembles AI-generated text. You might want to change it so it doesn't get incorrectly picked up by HP AI detectors.

Happy Sunday, Bev. I'm against writers using AI here, and other 'content' sites.                                  But how did you as an author detect AI traits in the story? Which tool d' you use?

My eyes. As I said, it's the structure of lists with colons.

"Maximize natural shading: Close curtains or blinds during the day to block out the sun's heat."

It's a dead giveaway. He should reword it as:

"Maximise natural shading by closing curtains or blinds..."

And he needs to do it quickly. The other author that used it recently has been banned.

It's not terrible. You just have to know how to use it wisely. I'm sure people felt the same when cell phones became a thing. And you use a phone, right?

Alright Bev. I'll try it...in letter writing. But not on a content site like hubpages. Thanks.

As others have said, the title is too long. In addition, there is too much bold print in the article. You shouldn’t write something in bold and then immediately write something else in bold. Photos should have a suitable license.

The use of 2023 in a capsule heading dates the article. It would be better to remove this. Even though “outdoors” ends in an s, it requires a singular verb.

You should briefly describe your home improvement skills near the top of the article in order to share your training and experience.
