Hi Hubbers,
I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!
Here is my article: Ways I Convert My 1x Inputs to 2x Outputs
Hi there,
I'm really sorry to say this, but it needs a complete re-write - from the title onward.
I had no idea what the article was about from the title. I still had no idea what it was about after the first subheading. I thought it was about business or maths or something.
Then you write stuff about number of minutes spent reading. Most of your visitors will have already pressed the Back button to get out of there as soon as possible.
It appears to be 'all about you'. Sorry to be harsh, but do you think anyone is interested in how you read and consume media? You have to make it about your reader.
There is random and incorrect capitalisation throughout.
You don't 'take inputs from blogs, etc.' You are not a computer. You read, listen, or watch.
Delete the screenshot of your bookmarks. Honestly, no one cares. We all know how to curate bookmarks.
Okay, you actually have some great suggestions in the article, but it needs restructuring in order to provide benefit to your reader. Forget the 1x 2x thing altogether. It's impossible to quantify in any case, and sometimes people read/listen/watch for entertainment and learn 'accidentally' along the way.
First of all, change the title, or at least, get some meaningful working title that will help you produce good content. So "How To get More From Your Media Consumption"... or something better than that.
Then list out some possible subheadings that relate to your title. At least four, preferably six.
Then write 200 - 300 words for each subtitle.
Write a great introduction explaining what the article is about and what the reader will learn from it.
At the end write a nice round-up of the suggestions.
Good luck.
Hi there,
Let me know now if it okay. Tried to incorporate all your suggestions. Thanks again.
That was fast
The title still doesn't reflect the content. 'Conversion' isn't really the right word unless there is some explanatory phrase. 'How To Convert Your Media Consumption into Useful Knowledge' might be better. Readers need to know what the article is about. Your headline is your first and often your only chance to grab attention.
Creating titles is an art. They have to do three things: catch attention, tell the reader what they are about to read, and be search-engine friendly.
The intro/bio is grammatically incorrect. Suggestion:
"Kiran Khannas is a nuclear engineer and an enthusiastic blogger. He is fascinated by how personal skills impact leadership roles."
Your photo has a duplicate credit.
Still missing an introduction. You have to explain why the topic is important. So something like:
"If you are anything like me, you spend a lot of your waking hours consuming media. Whether you are reading, listening, or watching you may find at the end of the day you haven't actually absorbed or learned very much. I'm going to help you get the most from all the books, websites, podcasts, and videos you consume in your working day."
That's off the top of my head, I'm sure you can come up with something better.
Correct subtitle format (make sure they all follow this):
The Power of Reflection, Implementation, and Sharing Information
You have used the pronoun 'I' 76 times. Too much. Like I said, you have to rewrite it so it's not about yourself. A little self-reference is fine, but you are writing for your reader. And your reader is only interested in themselves.
I'll let someone else help you with the rest of it but I hope this is a start.
hi there,
I am thankful for the suggestions and surely will work on suggestions. Thank you for your time and efforts..
You are a great mentor and what I like in your suggestions, you not only given a problem but also a solution. Thank you.
