    I noticed this just two days ago on my Stats page.  Out of curiosity, has anyone else received a survey request quite recently:

      Yes, I did when I had to sign back in. As I have for the past couple of years, my responses were "not at all likely".

    That ridiculous survey is just one of various things left unattended on this platform. Like the niche site logos, etc.

          Authory is a portfolio site i.e. place holder. You don't earn money from having your articles on Authory. You can, however, use it as a freelance writer's website with the purpose of attracting clients to your services via the Contact button.

            Exactly.  I believe you and Patty Inglish copied yours over as well.  I am in the process of "parking" mine there as a storage freelance site for various reasons before I join The Hub Community on Medium in Jan-Feb. This will preceed my final deletion of my remaining content on HP in the coming weeks.  (And we have to be careful to select the Authory backup view-save as opposed to the HP link view in order to avoid the 404 error message down the road.)

              Exactly. The Authory backup view is a much cleaner copy than the HP link, anyway. No ads getting in the way.

    I was trying to export to Authory. At first it was going okay, but every article had a big HubPages logo emblazoned at the top, I asked if they could get rid of that, so they had to do the importing again. They were only able to move 88 out of over 600 articles, because they said HubPages were blocking the export agressively.

      Hi John...

      I ran into the same problem with the HP logos when having what remains of my HP content copied to Authory.  They removed the HP logos for me. 

      I only have 20 or so publications left on Hubpages, so I didn't experience the HP export blocking.  I'm sorry to hear that happened to you, John. Thank you for letting others know, and warning them of this problem.

        I'm in the process of editing my Authory imports. When they removed HubPages from the top of each page, a bunch of gobbledygoop showed up wherever an apostrophe, quotation marks, or em dashes were in the originals. HP is aggressively blocking Authory's efforts to import articles for us. It sucks because before Authory removed HubPages and had to do a second import, my articles were beautiful and nestled nicely in their respective collections. Fortunately, 132 of my 134 articles made it through the second import (to remove HubPages from top of page/underneath titles). I don't know what happened to two of them or which ones they are, but during my arduous editing process I hope to figure out which articles missed the second pass . When I do, I can manually import them to Authory. It'll be a pretty site when I finish the edits and direct each article/short story to the appropriate collections I've set up. But it'll take a while. I worked on it all day today and only got 14 articles edited (removal of rogue symbols, attributing the photos) and placed back into the collections where I want to showcase them.

          I've had to do editing as well, Shauna, with various "gobbledygoop"  that showed up, in addition to adding an "About" page, a "Testimonial" page, rearranging the order of content in the Collections sections, and more. Once this has been completed, I can then publish.

            I'm going to add a Bio page, a Work With Me Page, Testimonials, and do some reordering as well, Genna. It's nice that Authory can be used as more than simply a storehouse for our online work. I'll be sure to look for your Authory site soon. We both have a lot of work ahead of us, but it'll be worth it in the end!

                Genna, your Authory site is beautiful. I love the way you've set up the testimonial section. Absolutely brilliant!

                I'm still working on editing the HP articles that experienced a hiccup when Authory did a second import in an effort to eliminate the Hubpages logo from the top of my article. Still have loads to go through!

                That said, I love the way you've set up your site. smile

                  Thank you, Shauna.  I love the way your site looks as well!  Nicely done.  (Mike wrote the dedication/forward for my Collected Works edition so I thought I'd include it in the testimonials page.) 

                  If you ask the Support Team to delete the HP logos, I believe they can do this for you. 

                  I'm still working on the pdf transfers for original content transfers other than HP, which is the last writing tutorial I have to review.  This is more work, but worth it! :-) I like the various Authory site features and flexibility they provide as well. They open up other possibilities for us.

                    Genna, I did and they did. But when that happened, a bunch of gobbledy-goop showed up wherever I had quotation marks, em dashes, and apostrophes. As a result, I'm having to go thru each article and correct that, in addition to re-adding captions and attributions to many of my photos. It's quite laborious, but I've opted to do this now rather than wait the few weeks Eric at Authory.com says is may take to correct the glitch in the import. He says it's because HP is aggressively blocking outside importation of article on the HP sites. I don't want to wait weeks so I've taken on the project of pretty-ing up my articles myself. He did, however, extend my free trial until the end of January so I can get my project completed. What a guy! :-)

          Authory looks interesting, has some features that look worth exploring.

          You have the option to go free... with a limit of ten articles I believe I read... after a trial period... it might be worth it if the tools it provides are as good as they sound, to pay... either way it is worth a try.

          Hubpages was something special a half-dozen years ago... its features were perfect for those inclined to be persistent, that didn't want a bunch of hoops and hogwash to run thru for publishing and getting paid.

          It was sold off like a company to Gordon Gecko who is now piecemealing it for what it is worth... unfortunately there is nothing out there that exactly fills the void. 

          X appears to much of a mess, tho its offering ability to publish on there now... for a price... if you can establish a following on X that might work... or perhaps Blue Sky offers something along those lines?

            Ken, Authory has great features. The problem is with HP, not Authory. HP is blocking their attempt to import articles while eliminating the big HubPages that wants to appear at the top of our articles. I'm glad I signed up for Authory despite the fact that it'll take me a couple of weeks to remove the junk from my articles caused by HP's aggressive blocking tactics. I paid for a year's subscription. The Authory team is very responsive. I just have to be patient during my massive editing process.

      Not the hit count but they are updating the earnings.  I signed up with Medium.  I prefer HubPages.  Too bad HubPages is shutting down.  It was a fun run.

    I can’t manually import any of the remaining articles on Discover to Authory, but I can those that are just on HubPages.

      John, have you tried doing so through your article archives on Authory? There's a button at the bottom that allows you to import using a specific URL for the article(s).

              Have you moved your work to Authory.com, Robert? Patty Inglish, John Hansen, Genna East, and I have. Not sure if any other hubbers have followed suit, but I'm glad I made the move.

                No, I'm migrating to Medium.  I paid for a year.  I would be surprised if I break even.  This is the first I'm learing of Authority.com.

                  Robert, here's the link for Authory.com. It's basically a portfolio site but it has other features as well. There are no earnings involved unless you set your site up as a magnet for potential customers to hire you as a freelance writer.

                    Exactly, Shauna. Authory is a nice site that has Newsletters and other features as well.  (Readers can contact the author and subscribe to them for free.)  I will be joining Medium in February but will continue to use the attractive Authory platform in the interim. 

                    All of what was left of my HP content after my deletions (only 23 publications, which are now down to 10 as I continue to remove them) were on Discover, and Authory copied all 23 of them over to their site with no problem.

                    If you delete content from HP firsthand, you can then easily copy the content to Authory in pdf and other formats, and add yourself as the source without any reference to HP.

                    Our HP Profile point score drops as well as we delete content.  (Mine has plummeted down to the 70's.)

    I think whatever article is on Discover is already present in the statistics page of your account. You can import all of them from your statistics page (links).
