Gravely Mismatched Statistics

I noticed that one of my hubs got the coveted double red arrows today. And with good reason- it shows more than 650 visitors! However, when I check on adsense, I only have 46 pageviews. I haven't had an increase in clicks for that huge traffic boost, either.

This has me a little concerned about Adsense. I checked the top referrers. I thought that I have been stumbled, but the Hubpages statistics don't show any significant traffic coming from any one specific source. No email from Google, either.

Anyone want to venture and try to explain this? Just a really skewed glitch?

I think something is weird with Adsense: I have normal traffic but yesterday my click thru rate pulmetted and today it hit 0% - now statistically thats possible because I dont have huge traffic but I havent seen zero clicks since last year (on a whole lot less traffic)

Anyone else notice odd stuff  with Adsense in the last 48hr?

Also, forgot to add- that sucks, Lissie. I've had some days like that, but not to that extent. Something surely must be up. With my traffic seeing such a huge spike on that hub, the clicks don't add up. But they are still about half what they should be for that huge amount of traffic. And the traffic that is showing on Hubpages is about 8 times higher than on Adsense.

Thanks for the response, Lissie. Yeah, anyone else?

Angela, unless I'm completely misunderstanding this whole thing, surely Adsense only shows you who clicked on your ads, not your overall traffic?

Marissa, I'm making a guesstimate based on the 'page impressions' shown. And I also double checked on Google Analytics, which by this time of the day I would think would start to show some of the spike in traffic.

Oddly enough, when I checked Google Analytics, I got a message about a processing delay from April 30 to May 5. I wonder if there are still problems? I've also noticed on other forums posts about some people making their most money ever today and their lowest earning day today. Actually, I made the most money ever myself yesterday. I guess we'll wait and see. wink

Adsense shows ad impressions as well as clicks.

It looks to me like there was a lot of traffic to that hub without an identifiable referrer (look at the day stats).  That could happen for a lot of reasons.  It seems likely that whatever the actual source was, it didn't convert very well into revenue (or even AdSense impressions).
