Still not sure!

   Hello everybody,
   I am the first to admit that it often takes me a lifetime to find my way around with computers and the Internet. I joined Hubpages over a month and lost my way ending up on Blogger.com. I just happened to stumble upon an ad re Hubpages again and have taken up where I left off for the past week or so. For some reason I am sensing that I might need to do more to succeed on this avenue. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

      Ok I got a chance to read one of your hubs,..I think all you need to do is learn the tricks and trades of adsense, ect and keep writing because you have the quality content needed thats for sure.

   Hey, welcome
   
   Started right - by posting in the forum. Join in discussions, help others (you never know, you may know the answers to some hubbers queries - it's not all hubpages or computer related stuff).
   
   Join a fan club or two - but only of those you like. Read some hubs, see if you like their writing. People will follow suit once they notice you around the site. But - don't fan for the sake of it. Others know when you go on fanning sprees that you're not joining theirs for the right reasons.
   
   Check out answers, in the answer section (above left on your screen). Rate them up or down, depending whether you liked or disliked.
   
   Read hubs, rate them up if you like them, down if you don't. Leave feedback in the comment box, a few words or more about what you've just read. If others comment on yours, you can eply to them - or not.
   
   Continue writing hubs - I'd say an absolute minimum of 400 words but aim for more. Make your content unique, fresh, relevant to the title. Make best use of capsules, headers and tags.
   
   And if you're unsure, read the hubpages FAQ's. Relache, Darkside, Mark Knowles (off the top of my head) have written some great 'how to' hubs, related to hubpages and how different aspects of it work - only they've included far more detail than in this reply.
   
   And when you've started to work it all out, and if you're still stuck, post a question in this subforum.
   
   Also - use the search facility. Type in the word, hit enter and see what comes back. There's a wealth of info already on the site, writeen by way of hubs, forum posts and the hubteam in general.

   Gendarme -- If you're here to simply write, you're doing a great job. Your writing is very, very good.
   
   If you're here to write AND make money, do as Frog suggested and search the site. You very specifically need to learn about keywords and tags. You should also look up backlinks and exploit your blogger blogs for them. You don't need to become an SEO expert, but you need to have a grasp of the basics.
   
   You also need to learn to work with other capsules like pictures, videos, etc. One big long sheet of words without anything to break it up is quite intimidating to many folks.
   
   But great start! And many folks have outside blogs in addition to HP. I have three blogger blogs and a few websites myself. So keep it up with both and you'll do fine!

      Ahhhh then you're going to have a lot of fun learning what, where, when and how! But it's all good and hopefully, like me and many others, the effort you put in at the beginning will pay you back many times over
