If you join do you have to have products to sell, I must be pretty dumb
but just went in and had a look.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what this affiliate is like and is it ok.
Thanks in advance for info
Are you talking about joining HubPages? If so, no you don't have to sell anything to be here. Just write hubs, or "articles" about what you care about.
If you want to know what affiliate selling is, then HubPages really isn't here for that purpose.
They really frown on outright trying to sell things...
I guess I don't really understand your question, could you be more specific?
I havent used that particular program Eileen: looks to be maybe UK based maybe some of the Poms know of it. It seems to have a number of adult and gambling products- you would not be able to run Adsense on pages promoting those topics.
They don't seem very big; I would stay clear until you get an endorsement that they actually pay clickbank is my preferred because they are large and do no questions asked refund for the buyer - a lot of the products are crap though
MoreNiche definitely pays. They have an excellent reputation and lots of support. But like Lissie said, a lot of their products are adult in nature. They also have weight loss products and gambling. And if you live in the US, I don't think you'll be able to promote any of their casino products due to changes in US law.
Thanks for clarifying Embitca - that's useful to know As Eileen and I are both Australian residents the gambling thing is something I might persue - do US laws apply only to my residence or do I need to get a non-US host as well?
I believe you will probably need a non-us host too, but I bet the MoreNiche gang could advise you better on that. By the time I got into affiliate marketing, the law had already changed so I missed the Casino cash cow
Its a bit of a bummer how the land of the free controls their residents sometimes! I remember being amazed that Americans weren't allowed to travel to Cuba but their own government: thats changed now I think! The Ozzie government makes so much money on Casinos the law wont change here any time soon
In America there is a constant fight of puritanism vs capitalism. This has always been the way. This is what happens when your country is essentially founded by religious zealots (i.e. the puritans). It is just one of our darling peculiarities
I'm pretty sure we still can't travel to Cuba. That should change when we have a new president, I suspect.
Let's see... casinos, casinos. The businesses who make money on casinos in the US do not want to have to compete with online businesses, especially since I think many of them are offshore. Vegas and all the Indian casinos like Foxwoods would be the one who pulled off that victory for themselves. So that's like capitalism vs capitalism, I guess LOL
Hi to everyone that replied. If I remember right I read a hub promoting more niche. Now for the life of me I cannot remember who's hub it was. But they said that they were earning good money there.
And I think it allowed adsense as well.
It also said you could put original articles and referals. They called these by different names. Sorry crafts disease in my head cannot remember the names somthing like blurps ..... Oh no not sure.
Any way so looks like you do sell things from what you are saying so if we promote would we be legally doing the wrong thing.
comon Lizzie now dont lead this old greynomad astray. But if Ok I would follow you . hahah
I'm a MoreNiche affiliate and I can also confirm they definitely pay . The majority of their affiliate offers are physical products and they carry attractive commissions. Yes they do have a "diversified portfolio" (lol) of adult products and gambling related products, but they also have products in the weight loss (Proactol is a big seller), skin care, web design and how to make money online niches. You can also make money referring affiliates to MoreNiche and building a team.
What I really like about MN is (1) they give you pretty much everything you need to succeed with them - content to rewrite or model your own after, affiliate support, how to guides, templates, real-time stats and an active forum; (2) they continue to bring new products into their pipeline; (3) they pay on time and as long as you meet the minimum payout threshold (which I believe is a $100), you'll get paid.
Hmm, is the list of products here http://www.moreniche.com/products-to-promote.php their complete list because that is very limited indeed.
If there is more then I may sign up.
I could really do with a better affiliate programme than Clickbank, there is so much junk being sold through them
I'm afraid that's about it for MoreNiche. They've actually expanded a lot. When I first heard of them I think all they were selling were penis extenders
If you want a better affiliate program than Clickbank, you could try promoting Ebay on more than just Hubpages. Build sites just them. I have a hub on how it works. Just check my profile.
Alternatively, sign up for Commission Junction. They have hundreds of merchants to promote. Just browse around and see what interests you.
Just like El Ray says, they provide you with almost everything you need. What's left for you to do is the most important thing - promote and build traffic to your site.
yup it prolly about time I signed with CJ, last time I tried they had a bug in their sign up form and their support staff were useless!
Moreniche is only possible through constant efforts both in real business and in e-commerce.
No short cuts. Short cuts are the longest route ...never reaches to the goal.

I have read other posts that claim that hubpages does not permit hubs on gambling. Does that also include the forums? My question really isn't about gambling, it is about casino's in general. We just had a new one open here in Michigan, and the attendance has been so incredible that they actually...

When I joined here a couple weeks ago I thought I could write hubs that others may benefit from and I in turn could read others interesting hubs. I guess I was naive as it seems no one will read my hubs unless I spend a lot of time promoting them, which requires first learning how to...

If I want to promote Amazon items off Hubpages, like my own site/blog etc. do I need to get any kind of permission from Amazon or have them verify it first? I will obviously create a new tracking ID separate from HP, but can I basically stick it anywhere? How about on a Facebook Page or...

What is your opinion on people who join in Hubpages just to promote something? When I Hub Hop, I often encounter overly promotional Hubs. And when you visit the Hubber's profile, you'll only see 1 or 2 posts, and both are used to promote something (i.e. their products, etc). What's your view on this?

I would like to see a daily or weekly or even monthly list of words that Hubbers should avoid using (if they want Google Adsense on their Hubs). It would be helpful I think to many writers who don't want to spend hours writing a Hub only to find out they used a 'banned' word in the copy or a word...

Are HP merely just creating new niche sites and hoping Google will pick them up? or are they actively promoting the sites in the wider world of the niche the site is based on?
