This  is coming from a  christian since birth.  And  as a christian,  I  have  become rather  angry  at  a lot  of  people who claim to be one.  My  main  beef is  that  they act as if  they and they alone, speak for god.  As  if, some how God personally, put  his  hand on their, soul, and  gave  them all  the answers.  I have a cousin who  has  just become a  born, again, and suddenly  all  of  his  logic  and critical, thinking has  gone  out  the  window.  I  try  really  hard  to  encourage him  to be  a christian, but  he  tried  to  tell  me  that  dinosaurs  are  a  plant by God  to  test  our faith, and  it  was  really  Jesus  Christ, who created  the  universe.   I  am an Episcopal,  and  my  church  allows  me  to think for  my  self and  to  be  active  in  the  church and Gods  works  by  not  just  getting  bodies  in  our  building  but my  serving the  Lord  by  doing  things.  I for  one  work  in  my  small  church s  pantry. When I  mean  small.  There  is only 40 of us.  but  we  manage  to feed  close  to  200  people  a week.  but  we  do  not brag  about it.
I also  have  family  who attend  those  mega  churches  and they  just  seem  to  brag  about  how  their  choir,  actually  was  up for  a  Grammy  last  year.  And  she  said,"  That  is  what was important to God."   I  just wanted  to jape slap her. It  makes  me  frustrated  also,  when  I see  the  extremist of  the  left  or  the  right  try to  hi jack  my  religion.  How  do  I  combat  this  with  out  sounding  like  an  idiot  myself?

You cannot combat other people's beliefs. As Christians we are followers of Christ. That means that we follow his teachings and the path he carved out for us to follow. As Christians we are obliged to tell people about God's Kingdom (Matthew 28:19, 20)doing good towards all (James 1:27)(Galatians 6:10) ; Gather in worship (Hebrews 10:24&25) and pray ( Matthew 6:9) (1Thessalonians 5:17) all things that Jesus did when he lived on earth. As long as what we speak comes from God's word and we are busy doing his will we be focused on what is important (Matthew 6:33). So when you use the Bible in speaking with your cousin, if your cousin does not listen you cannot make him listen you have to be patient. Always sharing your Bible based hope with your cousin in the hope that one day your cousin will open his/her eyes to the truth.

New born christian are baby christian that are just learning to walk. They need to be encouraged but reminded that they are not ready for a bicycle yet, let alone a motor bike. They need to know this before they ride into a lake.
I always suggest that they study the words that Jesus spoke before trying to interpret anything else.
We have too many interpretations already.

How can you be a Christian since birth since you "Must be born again" in order to see the kingdom of God? Jesus said it, not me... so I am curious....

I agree with Pioneer. We do not allow how others choose to think or believe or feel affect us in a negative way. Our eyes are not on people but on Jesus Christ. We share, if allowed, our faith, and leave the acceptance or non-acceptance to the individual. Let Him draw those to Himself that is ready. Looking at man will keep you frustrated and angry. Looking at Jesus will keep you uplifted and loving toward those who may still walk in darkness. We all are imperfect creatures of the dust. All of us currently see through a glass darkly. As Christians, we all strive to live according to His word and revelations, even so, we are still error prone. Thank God, our sins (errors) are covered by the blood of Jesus.

    Blessings, love and hugs.
