      I tutor at an after-school community center for elementary school kids in a disadvantaged area of Durham, NC. Two weeks ago, I asked one of my tutees if she wanted anything for Christmas, and this fifth grader, Sable, answered that she had no idea what she wanted. After some time to think, she burst out: "Maybe I'd like some pencils!" with a big smile.
      
      It is very sad. Interesting thing is that I, a Duke University student, am asking my parents for a reservoir pen for Christmas...

   hmmm....the ability to find a house would be on there for sure! hmmm other than that maybe just some clothes, new biker/combat black boots, Disneyland passes, and maybe some movies I might want...but that is about it...

    I want what every beauty queen contestant answered on their "big question" near the end of the pageant.
    
    I want this year to go away. It's been a year of constant grief. Finally, I think I've turned a corner. Other than that, I want a trip to the Mediterranean to get away, a trip to NYC to see some shows, and a few other equally inexpensive little things.

    I would wish for a better year pesonally.  Not sure my mind could handle another year like 2009
    
    My best friend(my dog died) 
    Two uncles died
    my wifes uncle and auntie died.
    Wife had a bad cancer scare
    Father in law had serious cancer surgery
    Father had a severe heart attack and was brought back
    father died on Halloween
    
    Just too much for one year so I just want my internet business to continue to grow and have a better personal year

    Oddly enough, I just wrote a letter to Santa and it's now a hub. I thought very hard about what I wanted for Christmas:
    
    Heinz Beans - though I don't like them
    Meerkats - who wouldn't want 1 or 7?
    Gravity - I'm a woman in need
    A boat - the yacht kind
    
    That kind of thing
