I have adopted a family in my community to feed for christmas.
All you need to do is call any church and they will have a list of the folks in need.
You can either buy food for them or bring them to your home for dinner.
Since I see so many forums on religeon,I say put forth a little love for the family's in need instead of arguing about who has the best religion or beliefs.
Merry Christmas
Wish someone would adopt mine unfourtanatly its not gonna happen , so I guess I hve ta do the rob peter to pay paul - and payment arrangement thingy again but thats o.k my daughter will still buy a toy for a needy homeless child helps her to feel better and a little happier for what she does have
We adopt a family at Christmas to provide food and gifts for. But we bring groceries (and produce when we have a garden) weekly to the church food pantry. It is good to help a family over the holidays, but that is a long time in between. Holly
That's great my friend,it makes me feel good helping out another family,as they helped my family out when I was young.
We have a neice who has four kids and really struggles so we help finance their Christmas. I love her kids. I just wished they were closer so I could do more.
Thats really nice of you to help out your family there are so many who don't - happy holidays
Thanks I just can't see kids without some loot on Christmas.
I remember as a child my mother would ask if I wanted to give clothes that I did not want to victims in Venezuela for earthquakes, it made me feel really good to help.
i give to the food bank and food drives all over. i wish there were some way to help out people you meet online so that you and they can keep their privacy.
You can , I have when I could , before my in laws went down and kinda took me with em , I helped a lady by giving her a donation through her pay pal account , you just need to be carefull though that they are who they say they are and really truly could use some help - I used to donate to food boxes , now I knida have to go get them sometimes - thank God I'll be back to work next month this past year has been ridiculous.
I sponsored a little boy from the volunteer center at school. I got him some cute toys and clothes.
Then my family always sponsors another family at the center for migrant worker's families. Then we bring gifts to the center and help them decorate the tree.
Things are looking up here,I am glad to see so many participants for the needy.
well since your daughter is being such a little Christmas angel i wanted to send her (and you) something.
you know, when i was a kid, we were dirt poor. i mean, really bad off. but, like your daughter, i saw some people who had it worse than we did, so i knew it could be a lot worse than it was. one time our school had a food drive and we had to wrap food to give to poor people and all we had to give was a can of beans. you were supposed to wrap it in gift wrap and ribbons and of course we couldn't afford that, so my mom wrapped it in newspaper. i was ashamed to take that to school, but i did and slipped it into the box when no one was looking. when we got out own food box, that can was in there
anyway i didn't mean to put you on the spot. just wishing you a Merry Christmas.
You havent put me on the spot , in case you haven't noticed from my hubbs and forum postings I'm a pretty much tell it like it is person , yeah , so I'm having a tough Christmas this year , but I have also had some really good ones , and more like being on the giving end , this year since we cant give much my daughter wanted to find one needy child and buy them a prestnt I think it shows alot of character on her part. I love the story of the can that came back in your own box I'm going to copy and paste it in a document so I dont lose it if you dont mind
not at all.
yes she does have a tremendous amount of character.
Your a real nice person Cossett and I'm glad to know you , happy holidays to you and yours
This was a really nice thread to read, im going to try and see if i can help out in my local community this christmas.

My 12 yo daughter asked to see a pic of her birthmom. Does this mean she does not feel I am her mom?I have offered before; she always said no. We have always been so close, and I guess I feel a bit rejected, but would NEVER tell her that!! I have always told her positive things about adoption and...

If you were giving a child up for adoption would it be in the child's best interest to go to a relative or to someone unrelated to you?

When I was a kid, I loved Christmas. I was so excited I could hardly sleep. Now that I have kids I want Christmas to be about family. Not gifts. So we get each daughter one gift and ask that our parents get them one gift as well.Any thoughts on what the right number of gifts...

I can't say I've heard of Christmas till I arrived in NZ 10 years ago. New Years Day was the big celebration and still is for me. Having said that, today, every christmas we generally do the same routine - pull out the christmas tree, hide those presents and fire up the ovens! How do you celebrate...

I was always aware from a very early age that I had been adopted at only 7 days old and it was arranged before I was born. This may fly in the face of what everyone says but I always wished I NEVER knew, that I'd never been told... I grew up feeling different from everybody else and my...

Do you prefer to dine out or eat at home on Christmas Day?I had been dining at home on Christmas Day for years. Th last time I dine out on Christmas Day was 20 years go. Meals are expensive and so are parking fees. Exorbitant fees. Dining at home maybe be boring but comfy. What do you think?
