I love Muse, I haven't heard much Libertines but will check it out.
Not deliberately to self promote me, but to promote my music, I've started hubbing about interesting bands I'm into:

Note that when I say interesting, some I think you'll like, and some you'll abhor XD But it's my range smile

Am probably betraying my age here but for me the early to mid nineties (my student days) was the golden age of indie.  I missed out on lots of cool bands in the 80's - at school I was into really awful chart stuff but I made up for it at college.  Indie music then was becoming big but had not yet been assimilated into the mainstream.  Every week great indie tracks were released.  Here are a few that I think have stood the test of time particularly well:

    PJ Harvey - Dress
    Pulp - Babies
Gallon Drunk - Some Fool's Mess

    Other side of the pond:

    Drop Nineteens - Winona
    Buffalo Tom - Taillights Fade
The Afghan Whigs - Miles Iz Ded

Had the pleasure of seeing all these artists live so regard myself as very fortunate indeed.  It really was a golden time.  Better sign off before I go all nostalgic.

Indie Tunes?  How broad!  Where to begin?

Neutral Milk Hotel "Two-Headed Boy, Part 2"
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy "I See A Darkness"
Belle and Sebastian "Seeing Other People"
Microphones "I Want Wind to Blow/The Glow Part 2"
Meat Puppets "I'm a Mindless Idiot"
    Daniel Johnston "Museum of Love"

    That's all!

You all should check out a band out of Jackson, TN called Taco & Da Mofos.  That have somewhat of the older 311 sound. Their first 'major' album has a lot of raggae sounds mixed in with the alternative rock, mixed with some fairly humorous lyrics.  Their last two has nearly the same sound, but with the addition of Citizen Flip as DJ.  It's real fun music to listen to, definitely worth checking out.

If you're using the term 'indie' as indie rock it's as follows:

    Everything by Pavement
    Everything by the Pixies
    Everything by Dinosaur Jr.
Pinkerton and Blue album by Weezer
    Sleater-Kinney

If you really wanna go deeper, most of the side projects of all these bands. Breeders, Amps, Frank Black, Silver Jews, J. Mascsis and the Fog, Sebadoh, Lou Barlow, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Heavens to Betsy (prequel to Sleater-Kinney), Quasi
