    I might have liked that for Christmas! New Year in (coastal) Australia is more about the beach, wearing not a lot and drinking white wine or beer as a relief from the heat.

    Happy new year from Melbourne. We went to Brighton Beach and I swam under a thunder lite sky whilst the fire works from the city could be seen from a distance.

    I love that it storms at this time of year in Aus. It creates such a magical, balmy atmosphere when it's hot but cloud covered and threatening.

    Most of the time we have blue skies though.
