I am still fairly new to this thing and I was wondering what is a good number of views on a hub in a day's time? Also, it seems that as the days whither on the number of views decreases exponentially...what is the best way to go about changing that?

Hi.. I'm new here too even though my profile says I'm not. I've just been writing for about two months and don't have that many hubs. I've made a bit of money so far but not tons. Like you, I've noticed that my traffic seems to be going down rather than up on most of my hubs. I don't know about you but for me, my hub that receives the most traffic and makes me the most money on average receives about 15 page views per day and most of that comes from search engines.

They say to just create quality hubs, watch your keywords and create lots of backlinks as a way to get the traffic up! Apparently once a hub is just released, sometimes there's a little search engine boost you get at the beginning (like a bonus to help get you started) but if you don't create the backlinks, etc., your traffic will go down.

Good luck! I need it too. smile

    'tis the season.

I know I have found myself on much less in the time between Christmas and new years with offline life.

Will return to normal very soon.

As far as daily traffic goes, i think an average of 10-20 views a day per hub would keep me happy.

Some hubs are traffic duds, some get hundreds a day...if it averages out Im happy

I agree with this...also remember that as the hub ages it will most likely get more traffic.  My best hub is around 40 a day (about 85% search engine traffic) and my slowest hubs only geta  couple a day.

I guess my hits aren't as bad as I thought. I averaged about 4 hits today. But, still no hits from search engines. I wonder if I should change the names of my hubs.

Would that be a good idea? Or would it screw up my adsense?

It wouldn't mess up your adsense and you are entitled to change the title of your hubs. It takes a little time but you will begin to get traffic from the search engines. smile
Just a suggetion: When writing your hubs I notices that you have placed your profile name in from of a couple of them, make each hub unique and do not use your profile name, the traffic should start generating from the search engines. Create titles that actually represent what you are discussing. Just a thought. smile

Changing titles might not be the reason, the traffic levels around this time are always very volatile, I am however glad to see you have had an increase in traffic!

If you want to build up traffic some more try writing some related Hubs and linking them all together!

Like Sunforged wrote, it's the holidays. Traffic will come back soon. I have been here almost 3 months. It is normal that there are some of my hubs got no hits each day. Keep writing.

Thanks! all this information is really helpful. Trying to pay attention to it all, and get it all straight with so many variations is tricky. I'll try changing the title of some of my less performing hubs, and see what happens.

Guess what! I changed the titles of all my hubs, and my traffic has doubled! My lady Gaga hub has 2 upward triangles by it! Woo!
I was reluctant to change the titles, but it sure worked!

    Thanks for all the advice!

I agree the holidays have dropped the hits and my google adsense to half. (Since December 23rd)

Looking at my last years stats, it will pick up in the next couple weeks.
