who's to blame for my downfall
in my reflection, what do you see
is it your suggestion, the blames on me
i had dreams to one day be a star
and i thought my talent would take me far
but as doors constantly slam in my face
i have slowly started losing faith
and as failure weakens my spirit with shame
i have started to drink to numb the pain...

it's been another month of casting calls
and even though i have tried so hard
i still have yet to land a job
i've heard every excuse that's in the book
but i know it all boils down to my look
and the frustration i'm going thru has been so tough
that lately alcohol hasn't been enough
so to ease the pain and get me by
i have started smoking mirajuana to get me high...

another month has past and still no call
i wish somehow i could get a sign
that would show me if i'm just wasting time
chasing my dreams of being a star
but i have yet to land a job thus far
day after day, and month after month
i audition but have not been casted once
and the pain of failure now cuts so deep
that i often cry myself to sleep
so the alcohol and weed that once helped me to cope
now does nothing so i've turned to dope...

i now realize there's no hope at all
of reaching my dreams to one day act
and i've lost everything in pursuit of that
and now my darkest secrets i must admit
to make ends meet i've started turning tricks
who would have believed that my life could become so tragic
or that i would one day sell my body to support a drug habit
end up living on the streets and not bathing for days
and just last week, i was diagnosed with AIDS
i know this sounds like some kind of Hollywood script
but the real road to stardom, isn't always a fairy tale trip...
