I think I understand RSS feed - a little. My question is, on many hubs they have a feed that delivers updated articles on the topic they've written on, for example an article on Dallas has a feed with 7 or 8 articles that constantly change...where do you find the feeds or is the hubber using more than one feed? Can you use more than one feed? I like the idea, just haven't figured out how to incorporate it
Great question Jane. Btw- how are you today?
I think I'll hang here to see answers/posts. I cannot answer, because I don't know either. So, I join you in the same pod, per se, like two peas in a pod.
No one wants to help us.
I'm going back to the search box to see if I can find out more, I've already spent 45 minutes searching for the right answer.
i can explain rss feeds but im not fully grasping the question
Here is an example (not my hub) http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Best-Family … Sacramento
Under the comments section you'll see this "The Best Family Restaurants In Sacramento in the News" and the feed seems to update itself, I think.
You have to go the page of the hubbber you want to follow and click where it says subcribe to RSS
oh that is a news capsule
You add when you creat or edit your hub
go to your hub and select edit...in the capsules add a news capsule and enter a title of the capsule and then enetr keywords for the news you want updating
yes the above is correct, its a good method for making sure your hub is constantly updated with info that includes your keywords
you can create your own updating feeds by using any of your tag page rss feeds or the latest/best/hot feeds on your profile
Ok, this hub got me thinking about RSS feeds and now I'm trying to update one. HELP!
I know we can do latest/best/hot feeds, but what if I want to do the category of starter snacks for my hubs *only*? I thought I used to know how to do this but apparently I forgot or it has never been able to be done to begin with.
I was trying to find a way earlier today to do just a specific category and couldn't find anywhere a link that was just a category. I couldn't even find a link that would let me post in my blog and take readers to a page with only that categories hubs in it...this could be a great idea for an improvement..going to put in suggestion box now.
I Want to group like 5 hubs in a group and RSS all of them in one feed or link to just that group. I also think this is what girly girl is wanting to do
sure, just give them all a unique tag
I use "sunforged systems" for my how-tos
see
http://hubpages.com/tag/sunforged+systems/best/?rss
you can do that with any tags, its completely customizable- just have to know about the /?rss thing
Now you are talking about tags...just when I thought I got it I lost it
Thanks for the help, I get the rss now, just not the tag. But no worries, I'm not tagging anything just yet.
so if I want to group them, I insert a tag specifically in the 5 or 6 I want grouped, like my green group then in the feed url I add tag and my green group like yours showed then in the rss only those with that tag will show up?

I think I learned how to put RSS feeds on my hubs today! I was only a person who went online for email, Word, and basic stuff until I came to HP. I feel really, really, stupid, but how can you see or tell without going into EDIT mode if you already put a feed on a particular hub? Not to worry, I...

I really can't point any of you to the many discussions there were about whether RSS feeds that display our own Hubs in a specific Hub of ours are a violation of the HP rules or not.I read info that the "best", "latest", and "hot" categories were not appropriate to add...

Hey Staff,Please get your moderation team on the same page. I am beginning to get PISSED OFF at their incompetence.Last time I checked, RSS Feeds are allowed to be ON hubs and must be relevant to the HUB.I am getting sick and tired of moderators telling me to DELETE specific links inside RSS Feeds,...

For people who never use RSS feeds for any reason, I reckon it would be worth giving them the option of disabling the feature.RSS feeds make it too easy for content to be stolen.
