A hubber stole my hub :(

   Hello all. I'm not sure if this is the right place to report this. If not I apologize.
   
   Im new to this community and one of my first hubs was http://hubpages.com/hub/Guiness-Longest … allest-Man
   
   Recently it was flagged as duplicate. I clicked for the admins to review it and I'm waiting for the response...
   
   Today, to my surprise, I found this hub http://hubpages.com/hub/Guinness-World-Records from user ram_uk. No wonder I was flagged as duplicate! This hubber made a hub almost identical to my own!
   
   Is this normal? Can something be done? I'm quite upset by all this situation

   You published the Hub 4 Days ago and the other hub was published 2 days ago. Of course your's is the first one. But Text in the other hub if different from your's so it cannot be called "copied" and hence there is no problem with that.
   
   If your's was flagged as duplicate and you have applied for a review, it will get cleared off within 2-3 days.
   
   This can't be helped. Even HP cannot help this.

   Altough to my read the text didn't seem that different. Even the title is similar
   
   I guess I should flag him as duplicate then.
   
   I tought HP could do something, since its 2 hubbers with look-alike articles. What really made me mad is the difference of hubscores, since mine is flagged as duplicate and his aparently isn't.
   
   Oh well, I guess this is Internet

   It's possible it is a coincidence since both of you used most of the same text from the news article.

      Actually I haven't seen that particular article. My hub was based on two other articles regarding this subject, one with the more tecnical details, the other portrayng the interview made to Svetlana. I tried combining both information and add a humurous touch of my own.
      
      Let me state that I don't mind having being flaged as duplicate. This is kind of a news article after all, and about a rare and funny event, so it's normal that several similar pieces of info exists on the web. Of course I tried to have a little something different in mine, but that belongs to the interpretation of each and every one of the readers.
      
      What I was upset was having another person posting the same thing as me, in the same outlet (hubpages). You are probably right and it was a coincidence, but I feel a little down that these kind of situations, as guidebaba said, couldn't be solved by HP, because not only it's redundant having 2 look-alike articles in the same site, but it also creates a ankward situation where we are stealing trafiic from each other, needlessly

   So if you haven't seen that article or another article it shows that it can be a coincidence since the form both of you used to describe the people is identical to the news article I read.

   ram_uk hub was unpublished. I don't know if it was HP or the user choice, but whatever it was my thanks to the responsible.

   As long as the text is not identical I can not see any reason to worry. Try to promote yours and bring more traffic on it.

   Since those hubs are both mostly pictures, and do not contain the same text, I see three possibilities here:
   
   1) Those photos are in the public domain, in which case, both of you are free to use them, and you cannot complain about the other user "copying" your content.
   
   2) Those photos are copyrighted, and both of you are in copyright violation.
   
   3) One of of you holds the rights to the photos in question, in which case he or she can file a DMCA complaint.
