Spring brings dangerous weather. Look at the funnel cloud I saw!

   Was headed into Texarkana from the south with huge thunderstorms coming in yesterday. As I was listening to reports on the radio of rotation in the clouds, I snapped a pic of it with my phone. My daughter was under this same storm. Tons of hail golfball sized showered her truck. My little 4 yr old grandson was crying he was so scared. Fortunately, this funnel didn't drop to the ground, but it is the same one that pelted and ruined my daughters vehicle. This is what we deal with in the deep south.

      Wow..We had tornado warnings today. I love storms but those are so dangerous

      The Tornado slipped past me here but hit just east of Benton. There was some damage to homes and no serious injuries. But in Cleburne County there was one man killed.  Large hail was reported in several places across the State.

   I grew up in the tornado belt.  It was always interesting, trying to decided when to head for shelter and hoping the crops are not ruined by hail.
   
   The last time I was in such a storm was about ten years ago. Soft ball sized hail, multiple funnels and stuck on the road.  Glad you and your daughter made it home without trouble.
   
   Now I live in the mountains, where there is not room for a tornado to form, but we get micro burst that do plenty of damage.

   Yeah, this baby rolled in across NE Texas over the Red River and into SW Arkansas. Fortunately, it never hit the ground but there's gonna be a lotta insurance claims on damaged vehicles, for sure. Hey! I think I'll take advantage of the 'hail damage car sale' they're sure to have!

   I live in Kansas and tornadoes are a concern throughout the spring and into the summer.  Today there is severe weather to the south of us, and there are also predictions of snow tomorrow.  It's a thrill a minute living in the American Midwest.

      Yeah, my daughter was in Kansas for a short while in 2005. She hated it. They have community storm shelters in some areas. Seemed like they were always under a warning of some kind. We get em here, too, but not as bad as Kansas. Hats off to ya for surviving!

   Yes, the community storm shelters!  My home has a basement now, so I stay put.  I used to drive to a two story parking garage, and then one night it started to flood in there, and I never tried that again.

   They are frightening. We get them a lot in Saskatchewan. Always under a watch or warning. Last summer we saw one exactly like that, maybe a bit worse and I rushed all the kids to the basement. But my husband and I couldn't stop watching. Hypnotic.

    I was in a tornado once and I didn't even know it. It sounds strange but it's true.
    
    I saw the glass in the double glazed windows wobbling in and out for a few mintues, then they stopped for a few mintues, then started up for a few more minutes. I was in the middle story of a three floor building and I'd just moved there so I thought it must be shoddily built and that they always did that on very windy days. Then I looked out the window and saw most of the roof in the middle of the road, and people started calling me to say the tv news was reporting a tornado near where I lived. 2 miles down the road it took down whole buildings, brick walls and all.

    I remember getting home from school one day, and no one was there, so I took a walk in the rain.  I came back to the house about the time my folks got home... they had been at the neighbors, in the basement, because of a tornado warning. I still love stormy weather.
