Hi, I am a new and wondering how many writers there are here and is there a list?
Currently, Total number of registered users: 361174
To see them you click "Hubbers" on the menu above
About 40,000 of those 361,000 have a currently published hub.
Paul, shouldn't there be some standard, like if you have no hubs after 6 months, you're given a warning, and then your account is deleted? But I guess, since you need an account for the forums, you couldn't do that.
I do remember it took Misha an awfully long time to put up a hub.
Well, listing that many accounts isn't a bad thing. To someone who never heard of it it gives them confidence in Hubpages that
"Look at how many people are doing this!"
It does leave a wrong number though, and in fact it might even make more people join if they known only 40,000 have a published hub! Because now all the traffic Hubpages gets-well it is driven to a smaller amount of people!
Paul, I don't know if you will see this, but how many of the 40,000 with Published Hubs are active say, on a monthly scale?

I don't think their should be a limit to how much one should or shouldn't write on HubPages, were a community of writers not one of "big brother" mentality. It's actually quite nice that you can write when the moment hits you without worrying about losing your account if you have 5 months of I'm too busy to write. Some places do this but I don't understand why (limit you to write or leave the service), the thing is it isn't taking up that much bandwidth nor is it bothering anyone if you aren't active in the community.
Also If you write 20 hubs in a week then nothing for a year you should still be able to come back to revisit your hubs and continue your legacy. Keep this in mind as well, once published that hub will always generate some kind of an income which is good for HubPages so they have motivation to keep them up there even if they don't publish for several years so long as they have a certain amount of hubs up and quality that is.
There are some Hubbers like Misha who rarely hub but that are a staple to the community in other ways such as participating in the forum and of course policing the spam hubs I rather enjoy that HubPages is the way it is, much more relaxed atmosphere than worrying about your account one day falling off the face of the earth because you didn't have time to write every day. I do myself try to hub at least a few times a month to stay fresh for my fans.
In other hub news I don’t know if you guys heard about my upcoming HubPages blueprint site (free for all) but I will be building it for a few selfish reasons such as gaining new author signups (affiliate income) but its morphed into an exciting platform to bring traffic to the many Hubbers pages on how to make money on HubPages, seo, on and off page optimization etc..
I was thinking about doing something fun with it as well such as nominating Hubbers of the week based on the best hubs linked to in the site, etc.. a sort of secondary Hubber of the week but as the site will be mainly a teaching platform it will be based on originality of materials i.e. coming up with something fresh and new to “show the class”. I’m thinking if I put this together I’ll nominate Sweetiepie (even though she may not like me much right now) because her avatar hub was pretty unique and fresh.. any thoughts on this guys? I’d be willing to take ideas in for the site.

Lots of people sign up to just to check things out, and may never publish a hub. Some of them do so for other features, for instance to use the forums, to leave comments, to make a request, to be someone's fan, etc. But 8,000 different users have published a new hub in the last 30 days, and around 30,000 have published a new hub in the last 6 months.
Have you taken a look at the "latest hubbers" pool lately? 99% spam hubs, some of them with hubs that have no content at all. You have to dig to find the real new hubbers. I had to go through 6 pages of spam hubbers to get to one real one. Who has time? It's killing the legitimate new hubbers to have to fight against all that.
Thanks for the Statistics Paul! Greatly appreciated for your time

Pauldeed,
Please inform how many are real persons and which of them are spam. Please update your data with analysis. .
Thanks,
Jyoti Kothari
Haha, I went like nuts at first, but about the time I hit hub forty, I started to lag and slow down. Now it's about one a month, if I'm lucky.
I wonder how many are duplicates out of those that are active too. I know I made a spoof hub account to pick on Christoph and I know of a certain chihuahua that is someone's alter-ego from time to time. I'm certain there are more. I think Eric Graudins is writing under a new name too.
I can't believe that anyone would do that!
He was being facetious, so, you're safe; you still don't agree with him.
I have two i.d.'s, but most people know that. I started out writing hubs on Florida Gardening, but got to two and stopped, changed to the one I have now. The other one is still out there.
I just signed up for my second account to use with my off HubPage site promotion (not selling anything) I wanted to keep my accounts separate so I can track things, but as I build my quality information based adsense sites I'll throw down a 2,000 word or so HubPage book reporting the 10 page site giving HubPages another quality hub and me a bit of link juice as Hup- calls it..
I figure its a nice way to put a SMALLER hub down while building a more informative site people can click through to from the hub to read more, this resolves that all too familiar thing of people saying my hubs are good but too dam long so realistically you guys gave me the idea about 80 hubs ago. I'll probably convert many of my hubs into sites and shorten the hubs themselves this way.. not sure..
I think that account will get more hub producing juice than this one eventually 10 sites a month x ?? months = at least 10 hubs a month. On this one I do about 4-10 a month but those usually got started 2-3 months prior
Will also be a great way to see how many sites I’ve build (as I’ll be selling the adsense sites after three months of pumping them up to 4.00 a day in earnings/adsense but no less than 1.00 a day)

There is no proof of Eric writing on a different name. Spoof Accounts on the other hand can be very confusing if on the forums.
~thranax~
Oh yes there is !

I agree that spoof accounts can be pretty confusing.
In fact, some of the people in this thread are probably responsible for about half of the hubpages user id's
And BT - How long have you been cultivating that air of innocence ??
Oh - Welcome to Hubpages, Candace.
I bet Misha's already your fan

So I recently found out that hubpages now lets us know what hubbers sign up through our links (good job by the way hp) and so I decided to check and see who they were and how they're doing.Turns out only 3 of my 8 sign ups have actually made any hubs whatsoever...So that made me wonder exactly how...

How many hubs do you have tucked away unpublished?I tend to work on several hubs at once and go back and fix and redo and edit them over several days, maybe even weeks before I publish. Other times I just blast through a hub and post it. What do you do? What is your workflow like?

I was hub hopping and had to flag a few hubs for being substandard (word count). One hub had exactly 10 words and 2 photos. There should be a way the system prevents you from publishing a hub like that except if it's in the poetry section.

Should hubbers who don't crack 50 points be given the boot after 6 months?I've noticed there are thousands of low-quality hubs here. Should Hubpages raise its standards for inclusion?

Hi Members.... I am new to this Hubpages.com. After creating new account, I posted new article and it show that "This Hub is not published, only you can see it." - Need Help in this regard.++++++++++++++++Naresha.

For months I published no hubs and my hubber score sat around 96, in the last month I published three hubs, all of which are featured and each time I published one my hubber score dropped by two points, it's now down to 90. Is this how HP rewards us for our hard work? Correct me if I'm wrong but...
