   Now that we have your attention, we (Lynda and MyWebs) have a question for you:
   
   What keyword(s), phrase(s) would YOU use to seach for info related to online writing, if you were JUST looking into writing on the internet?
   
   We appreciate as many responses as we can get!  We're doing a joint project.

   Thank you sunforged.  We also want to hear from people who aren't worried about making cash, who are more interested in the writing / publishing aspect.  But also Money makers, writers for the craft, everyone!
   
   LOL Lynda  No one is going to believe I could ever get so lucky to be with someone as pretty as you. But thanks for making me look good for a minute there.

   I would be inclined to agree with Sunforged, however, I would also vary the format of the various styles of writing.
   
   Such as article writing, blog writing, poetry writing, creative writing, true stories published or things of that nature. To target a more specific type of reader.

   Type of reader?  Or, type of writer?
   
   We know we can do a keyword search for ideas, of course, but we're specifically looking for the "natural thinking" patterns of people who have an interest in getting published online, writing online, etc.  And, like we said, the "making money online" aspect is only part of it.
   
   I know there are people here who are only in it for the writing.
   
   How did you (everyone) find HP, for example?  A general google search, or ...
   
   What words would someone search who has these described interests.  That's what we're getting at, if I / we didn't explain it well enough yet.

      Lynda, I came across HubPages by surfing the net. I've been online since 1994. I've never been in the business of search engine optimization before, so it is new to me and still learning.
      
      I stumbled on to HubPages. I wasn't looking for anything in particular.

      Okay, two things, and I will post the links. One is wonder wheel. After putting in search terms, I just put in writing on line, then search, then click options, in the new menu click wonder wheel:

      The other is Google Trends. I used the same terms. When you hit a good term it will give degrees of "hotness" from spicy to volcanic.

   not directly related to online writing but "managing online writers communities" or "managing online communities" is my search term for quite some time now... each year there are very few worthy additions to these queries...

   I did searches for freelance writing, freelancing, freelance writer, writing, writing opportunities, and many more that I can't remember.  It was very frustrating for me because I was looking for a 'job board' type site/page.  Never found it  lol  I found HubPages instead!

      Job board, huh?  I get a newsletter put out by Hope Clark with weekly job announcements for writers.  Close to a "job board" as I've ever seen. And always helpful!

    Not enough information, are you looking for terms that display commercial intent, if so at what point of the buying cycle do you wish to start engaging your target customers? Are you looking to be educational i.e. offer training? If so is it copywriting, blogging or SEO copy you wish to teach? Who is the target customer and what are their needs and goals? Are they internet marketers or work at home moms? Or is it to promote your own writing skills?
    
    I don’t think you are going to get what you need, unless by sheer luck, unless you are a little more specific.

       Still doing the research and idea brainstorming. It could end up being any combination of the things you mentioned.
       
       Mainly we just wanted to know if you was looking for a place to write online which keywords would you use depending on what you was seeking out.
       
       We realize one person may wish to make money from writing online so their keywords would reflect that will others could have a very different goal in mind.

    While we appreciate everyones time and effort I think some are missing the point of the original question:

    No matter if you were looking for a web site that pays you money or money was not an issue which keywords would you use to search depending on what your motivation is if you were looking for writing type web sites?
    
    But then if after Lynda explained it if others are still confused I don't think I can explain it any better. sigh.. So just read her posts better please.

    I just typed in online writing, writing online, how to write online, write online, writing articles, writers web sites, writers forums, online authors. Basically I just did variations on those to see what it threw up as I had absolutely no idea where to begin. Good luck!

    Yeah ... I think some of you understand what we're looking for, and others are trying to read between the lines, assuming that we want this or that.
    
    It's not about us and what we would do:  It's about YOU and what YOU would type in to search.
    
    A keyword search, for example, comes up with an awful lot of variations on the theme "writing online."  We could easily just pick and choose from that list, using the CPC or other parameters -- but we specifically want NATURAL answers, not computer generated answers, to the question, "What words would you use to search if you were interested in learning more about writing / publishing online."
    
    Thanks for the answers so far!  MyWebs and I are working on a pretty big idea, and it all starts with this!  We'll likely announce that idea here, first, at the right time (which isn't now)  LOL!
