It seems like it may have been a bit rash in hindsight but I used my first hub to post my my first novel. Any thoughts on the advisability of this in general or comments on how I posted it specifically would be greatly appreciated.

      Hey !Welcome !
I went to your hub. You have published an entire novel in one hub. Nobody's going to read it that way. It's too long.
You should divide it in chapters of more or less 1500 words each.
And post pics or pictures related to it. there are several sites where you can find them free.

thanks for an actual word count suggestion... that would be 40 different hubs is that odd?

Had a look as I said I would in the other thread and on first instict I would say that you need to think of a Hub more like a magazine article.

    Welcome again.

That Hub is way, way, way, way, too long. Just curious, do me a favor- on the outside of the hub, click on stats.

    Then click on hubmetrics

It will give you the count on the number of words. I am curious what it says. smile

I think you need to read some other people's hubs, so as to get a feel for what type of writing. Publishing an entire book in one hub is a bit much.

I mean, even if broken down into chapters, you could write multiple hubs.

    Just my thoughts. smile

My longest hub is about 9,000 words. However, it is an exception to the average hub, because it lists 49 different women writer profiles, so the word count got out of whack.

Otherwise, my longest hub is about 3,900 or so. The average hub length to write is about 800-1200 words. I am not saying you cannot write long hubs, because you can. I'm just pointing out averages to give you an idea. smile

You've been given the rite advice of dividing your novel into different hubs. Visit the link given below which will take you to Dohn's profile who divides his stories in different hubs according to chapters. You might get the idea.

Would you be able to read a novel(printed in paper) that has everything written on a single page? Same is with the virtual ones, you have to divide these in pages.

Falsor, I read less than half of your hub because it is really late and I am tired.
This is a book, or part of a book. How many words?
If I were you, without further ado, I would send this complete article off to a book publisher and start negotiating a price for the finished article.
It needs editing in places, but they can do that for you.
I found your descriptive terms accurate and could imagine the scenes as they happened.
    You are a natural writer.
Not a hub writer - what you have written is way too long for a hub, although of course you could be a hub writer if you could imagine yourself writing much shorter magazine-type articles.
Again I reiterate. Leave this up and use the url to fid yourself a publisher. I think its good enough to be in print.
