   Okay, this will sound crazy to some of you: I'm receiving too many clicks on my google ads! I've read on here somewhere that Google gets leary if your ad clicks are over 2% of your page impressions. My clicks today are 6%. My average for the past 30 days is over 3%.
   
   I might have accidentally clicked ONE of my own ads when I first started on HP, but since then I've been VERY careful not to do so. The other day a pal who reads a lot of my hubs said she had read the info on one of my ads because she was interested in it, and I told her to NEVER click on my ads again! The ad clicks are totally legit, but how would I ever prove this to Google? This all started when I started writing all my remodeling hubs, linking them together, and promoting them on other sites. What should I do?? What CAN I do??

   Probably, you're just plain succsessfull.
   You must face it.
   I'm going to click on your ads only once.
   Google looks for IPs. If they're systematically from the same provenance, they get suspicious that it might be some kind of click club.
   Otherwise, if it's random IPs they have , there's no hassle.
   I hope you got as many random clicks as may be.

   Are you getting more visitors from search engines? That can happen over time - you get fewer hubpages.com visits (they click far less), and more search engine visits (they click more).
   
   That's good that you encourage friends not to click. If they want to support you, they should put a link to your hubs on their blogs or other sites.

   maybe you should have some stats insert on your hubs and start making some analytical studies about it.
   At least you'd know where your clicks come from.

   It looks like my clicks come from google search, yahoo, bing, facebook, and snipsly, along with some websites I've never heard of. Are any of these a problem? Should I stop posting my hubs to Facebook??

   Funnily enough, I have had more clicks than normal today, from google search.
   It is probably a lazy holiday thing...people look up ads because they have the time to do so.
   Roll on the holidays...may there be many more of them!!
   I assume you have analytics? That will tell you if all your clicks come from the same source...in which case google will automatically think of fraud.
   If they didn't...relax and enjoy it

   Hey Habee, I think GOOGLE looks at IP address and the repetitiveness of the clicks from that address. Before it decides if there is a problem or not.
   
   It would be the safest way to track clicks. I don't think you need to worry.

    You have absolutely nothing to worry about. Dont stop marketing your hubs through facebook snipsly etc if you are seeing traffic and clicks coming from them, in fact you should be thinking about ways to increase this.
    
    One accidental click on your own ad is nothing to worry about, and don’t be surprised by your success you are a fine writer.

    But Jean, I have no way of knowing who is clicking! I've told the people I actually talk to NOT to click on the ads. Do you think I should add a note to my FB page telling people not to click on my Hubpage ads??

    I would tell family and close friends not to click on my ads as they may think they are doing me a favor by clicking more than is normal.
    
    I wouldn't tell everyone who follows me on Facebook, Twitter or any other place not to click my ads. You want clicks, not to discourage it. Of course encouraging users in any kind of way to click is against AdSense TOU. Discouraging it is shooting yourself in the foot.
    
    I sure wouldn't worry about a high click through rate. That is awesome!

    Habee, you want clicks.  If you facebook friends are interested in the advert, why would you ask them to stop?  I think you are just seeing an increase because you write well & people are clicking through on adverts that they are finding relevant.  I wouldn't worry to much hon!

    I 've just finished calling all my family and close friends and told them to NEVER click on my ads - even if it's something they're actually interested in! My oldest daughter said she's clicked a few times, but not recently. My middle daughter has never clicked, and my youngest daughter has clicked one time. Two friends have each clicked one ad, and my other friends said they have never clicked an ad on my hubs.
    
    I hope I'm overreacting. It's just that now that I'm actually doing well with adsense, I don't want to get kicked off!

       Don't worry. Adsense doesn't just look at clicks when trying to figure out if people are cheating. I'm sure their system won't flag you as a potential abuser.
