On April 8 I had my best adsense day in my short HP tenure. I had 5 clicks and made 20 cents.
I checked the adsense account just a few minutes ago and it showed I had two clicks but had made 89 cents. While I am excited about a new daily high. How is this possible?
How can I make only 20 cents on five clicks but 89 cents with just two clicks?
Does anyone know?
key words is your answer.
All key words are not created equal.
Some of them pay very well but don't get enough traffic.
Others get lots and lots of traffic but don't pay well.
It takes research to figure out which KW will be best for your hub.
congrats on your clicks!
I wouldn't say that
You wrote a good hub that generated traffic and it got some clicks. That's the name of the game.
If your clicks were $5.00 each, I would say THAT was lucky. LOL
Poke around and find some info about researching keywords. Now that you're having some success, it will be easier to see where you're going with it.
Learn the ropes, then do two things:
A- Go back through your hubs and put the best KWs you can find in them.
B- Figure out your keyword BEFORE you start your next new hub.
I think you'll be surprised to find that two similar words can be worth very different amounts. (I was )
good luck!
I have tried to understand keywords. I might as well be reading Greek. I have used the Google Keyword tool. I am not sure how to use the words or where to use them. I am not even sure if I am choosing good keywords.
That is why I said I got lucky.
It's not something you can necessarily sit down and muddle through all by yourself.
The Google tool shows you statistics about keywords, but it's up to you to interpret them
Here is a great resource:

Looks like something that would be helpful. I will try to explore it more tomorrow. I just checked on my trafic sources link. For the first time ever my Hubpage views and views from search engines are almost the same. I have two more views from HP than I do from the search engines. These are stats for the last 24 hours.
The site that wyanjen suggested is excellent.. I would definitely check them out and learn all you can from them.
Also, I'll throw out another suggestion. If you use firefox, download SEOQuake. That nifty little plugin will do wonders in helping you figure out where your keywords stand in relation to how much they'll bring in.
Good luck with things!
I agree the keyword academy would be a great place for you to start to learn how to use keyword phrases and search engine optimization

I have a topic that I researched in Google keyword tool. There were thre columns- Competition,Global Search and Local Search. WhatI realize from reading other hubbers is that traffic and clicks depend on 'evergreen' topics, knowledge, interest, luck, precise keywords for search engines, satisfying needs...

Hi all,Just a short note that hopefully doesn't run afoul of AdSense's rules on telling your earnings.I will say that it took 8-9 months to get my first check from AdSense. My next check should be ready in about a week, and it's only taken 3 months this time.I've tried with various types of Hub...

I noticed that the more traffic I get the more money I make on just adsense impressions without clicks. Yesterday I made .67 cents and today is already .55 cents with just impressions. That is, what I made with no clicks at all. The total with clicks is much more of course. So I guess even the no...

Okay, I have 32 hubs, which I feel are good. Some better than others of course, but still I am only receiving 20-30 clicks a day! Not for each Hub, I mean total! I am trying to understand promotion or backlinks, everything to do with getting more traffic. But to be honest, for someone who really...
