So what are your thoughts on Mary Magdalene and her relationship with Jesus?
What relationship?
The real one or the contrived one about having been His lover/wife, bearing Him children and all that nonsense? This only appeals to those who don't believe the account of (and purpose of) His death and resurrection.
Therein ends the argument. Not a hard call for me!
I think that they loved each other, and were good friends. If they really existed, that is .
i was raised outside of church. So i am always open to hear peoples views on the bible.
i don't believe the rumours, i believe the bibles account, how about you?
And what does the bible say about his relationship with her?
I just know a lot was left out of the bible, but don't get mad with me b/c I don't know much.
There is no real proof that Mary Magdalene had an affectionate relationship with Jesus let alone being his wife. There are curious moments in the bible that point to such a possibility. The gospel of John which has long been considered the most unreliable mentions a Loved One at the table during the last supper. Who was this Loved One? No one knows. could it have been Mary Magdalene? I for one would very much like to think so.
There are accounts of life in the early church indicating that women had a far bigger role to play than they ended up playing in later centuries. Maybe the Medieval Marthas were the last remnants of the divinity in women expressed by what were by then considered an heretical sect.
Yes a fair bit was left out of the new testament including the gospel of Mary and the gospel of Thomas.

After reading and contributing to so many posts about Christianity on here I'd love for someone to answer this question. Which form (if any)of Christianity is the real deal? It's one thing to get into heated debates over who believes in what religion, but it seems strange to me that there are so...

Does the way people view religion often get in the way of a relationship with Jesus??

Must the sinner wait till he has repented before he can come to Jesus? Is Repentance to be made an obstacle between the sinner and The Saviour?"Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavyladen, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

I know this topic has been brought up before, but I recently saw a post on youtube of a young man who claims this is the case and made quite a creative, short video poem/rap to tell why. I've seen it plastered all over facebook walls and other media sites, so thought I'd post it here to see...
