New Sloman Slo Mo Mortavitch Doll From Monster High

Updated on November 23, 2013

In this article we are going to be taking a look at the new Sloman Slo Mo Mortavitch doll from Monster High. We will review the new Slo Mo doll and also tell you about the release date for this and any other news we can bring you on the new Slo Mo doll from Monster High. Along with that we will also give you a rundown of some other new dolls that are going to be coming out in the next few months. For fans of these dolls this will be a great place to get all the latest news on the latest releases.

There are so many different characters to choose from when it comes to Monster High. Every few months there seems to be a new ghoul introduced to the story. One thing there has always been a little bit of a shortage of though is male characters. When it comes to boys there are a serious lack of characters and a serious lack of dolls. Most of the ghouls are female so it’s always a bonus when we get a new male doll released. The latest one to be announced about it Sloman Slo Mo Mortavitch or Slo Mo for short. He will be made into a doll and sold to fans of Monster High. So let’s have a look at the character and the new doll.

Sloman Slo Mo Mortavitch Doll

The New Slo Mo Doll

So first of all let’s tell you a little bit about the Slo Mo character. He first appeared in the cartoon way back in the summer of 2010. Back then he was just a background character. It was not really until 2012 when he started to become a regular fixture at Monster High. As with most of the male characters he has a girlfriend and this is Ghoulia Yelps. As you may have guessed from his appearance Slo Mo is a Zombie and he comes from a family of Zombies. As with most Zombies he is fairly quiet and a little bit dopey, he usually has a fairly gormless look in his eyes. He is also on the football team and enjoys a game of chess when he gets the chance.

So what about the actual doll? Well this was first previewed at the San Diego Comic Con Monster High booth. There were a number of new releases on show here and Sloman Slo Mo Mortavitch was the only male. Most of the dolls previewed at Comic Con are from the TV special Frights, Camera, Action. However, the Slo Mo doll is not part of that line of releases as he is going to be coming out with the Ghoul Spirit line of dolls. There is no definite release date for these yet though it is thought they will come out early 2014, if we do get a confirmed release date we will update our page and let you know. Latest news is though that they are now showing up online and you can get hold of Mo there.

The actual doll then looks like being a good one. He comes with bright blue hair that is stuck up, he has pale skin and haunting eyes. He is wearing shorts and t-shirt and the shirt has the Monster High team logo on it. He also comes with a little team flag that he can wave around. This is because he is part of the Ghoul Spirit line of dolls coming out. Although there are without a doubt better dolls coming out soon, this one is a good one as it adds to the collection of boy dolls. It may be that Slo Mo gets released in a twin pack with Ghoulia at some point, this often happens when we get a new male doll coming out.

The Honey Swamp Doll

More New Releases From Monster High

Along with Sloman Mortavitch there are lots of other new releases coming soon. The biggest news is the TV Special called Frights, Camera, Action. This will present a whopping four new Monster High characters which I think could well a record. Each one of these will have their very own doll. Along with the new dolls there are also going to be new versions of classic characters, so expect some of the big names such as Frankie, Clawdeen, Cleo, Draculaura and Lagoona to all get a new doll. Let’s have a look first at the new characters though.

Clawdia Wolf - As you would guess Clawdia is another sister to Clawdeen. The werewolf family is getting bigger and bigger and this new release is the older sister of Clawdeen. The Clawdia Wolf doll that is going to be released is a little bigger than the others, probably to show she is older. She comes with blonde hair and piercing eyes.

Viperine Gorgon - Again you would be right to assume that Viperine is related to Deuce Gorgon. So we expect that Medusa will also be the mother of Viperine. She is based on a serpent and looks like being one of the best of the new releases we are getting. She has bright pink hair and a stunning necklace made all of snakes.

Honey Swamp - When Honey was previewed at Comic Con she was a big hit and fans were really impressed. She comes from the swamp and has green hair done in a big afro. She has pale skin and looks like being a really interesting new character. Her dolls comes with a little vintage video camera and a clip board. We expect this one will be the biggest seller from the Frights, Camera, Action range.

Elissabat - Another new release and one that is going to be previewed at the New York Comic Con is Elissabat. She is thought to be the daughter of a vampire bat, there are rumours she may be related to Draculaura although this has not been confirmed. She has pale skin and little fangs, she mainly dresses in purple and looks very gothic.

Jane Boolittle

There are other new releases coming out over the coming months as well. One that fans of male dolls will like is Bram Devin. He has currently not been confirmed but it is more than likely we will soon see a Bram Devin doll coming out.

One that we do know is coming out and is another brand new character is Jane Boolittle. She was also given a nice preview at San Diego Comic Con and she looks like being an interesting little doll. She is thought to be some kind of animal witch doctor. Her name is a play on the name Doctor Doolittle. She comes with an adorable sloth as her little pet and it also looks like she wears some kind of brace on her leg. She has a doctors bag and a few other things with her.

There will be two new Sweet Screams releases, these are going to be new versions of Frankie Stein and Draculaura. These are pencilled in for a release date of around April 2014.

One of the most recent dolls was of course Catty Noir. She came out in September and is now widely available. Fans have been snapping her up and many stores have sold out quite fast, you can get her online though.

The company who came up with the concept of Monster High are Mattel. They are always working hard to release new characters and new dolls. With new TV specials coming in 2014 and lots of new characters turning up at school, the coming year looks like being another really exciting one in the world of Monster High. For doll collectors the list grows ever longer. Slo Mo will certainly be a welcome addition to many people’s collections.

I am extremely angry , frustrated and upset that the slo mo doll has not been found in stores yet. despite the fact that his release date has long past and he has already been found in limited numbers in other areas. there are quite a few scalpers who are also trying to see this doll for outrages' prices, some of which being almost 20X his asking price. and yet as I mentioned he is still not out on the shelves in stores for the rest of us to buy. Mattel has not been able to give a straight answer about where he is or when he will be out so what's the deal!?
