I play with the same group week after week, so it's better for me than pick up groups or whatever in a CRPG.

On a tabletop the GM can take the story wherever they want - a good GM can do amazing things beyond the scope of a hard coded story on rails.  They can bend the rules and fudge rolls to make the world adapt to the players.  Plus it gets you out of the house!

So, I've played the best MMORPGS and CRPGS: World of Warcraft, Diabolo, Baldur's Gate, XII Final Fantasies, Anarchy Online, Mass Effect, Fallout, AdventureQuest, Daggerfall and Morrowind, Lost Odyssey, Zelda...  The list goes on, but for me none of... read more

Tabletop RPGs are more social; I get to see my friends, share meals with them, hug them, see the expressions on their faces when they say stuff, throw crumpled up paper at them when they make bad puns, &c.

It gets me out of the house, which is also nice.

And mostly, I don't get carpal tunnel syndrome from all the mouse-clicking when I play a tabletop game.

In a table top RPG, you have more options than you would have in a console or PC RPG. If I'm playing in a superhero RPG, and we want to have an adventure where we travel to another dimension with elves and dwarves, then no problem. If I'm playing in a fantasy RPG, and I want to have an adventure where we get teleported into the universe of Star Trek, then no problem. You don't have that kind of freedom in a computer RPG.

The face to face social interaction is enjoyable too.
