Recently... Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Fallout 3 and New Vegas are all great. For older games, I have fond memeries of the Ultima series, and the earlier Elder Scrolls games (I remember really enjoying Daggerfall, even if it was buggy as hell), and Fallout 1 and 2.
Also, an older game that I'm playing at the moment is 'Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura'. It was so buggy it was almost unplayable when it first came out, but with the official and unofficial patches that have been put out since then, it's a lot of fun. Steampunk and fantasy together in one game!
Really tough call. Fallout 3 or Morrowind without mods, but Oblivion with mods. Oblivion with mods isn't really so much a game as an infinite playground. When I was a kid, Ultima IV! That was the game that got me hooked on CRPGs.
I love playing the rich widow enamored by intelligent and cool men. One is a cat burgler, one is a gambler (who seldom loses), one is a poet-boy, one is an handyman. Don't know why I need the handyman since I'm a rich widow in this game.
Daggerfall, the prequel to Morrowind, was an epic game considering its time.
Wizardy 7 was one of my favorites, along with Ultima 7.
Phantasy Star III.
Ultima Online and Everquest were amazingly good times. Skyrim was a good play through but I enjoy a more engaging world not just a beautiful one and yet cant get into the WOW style of play.

Diablo 2 when RP games are in case. Blizzard really did their best to make it great game. Later, they released Diablo 3 just to take millions as that game was clearly unfinished. So, practically they sold untested beta version, it's a pitty.

If I had to choose my favorite of all time, weighing in classics, new graphics and what not, I would choose Super Mario World. I love the classics and I love Mario.

I have played a lot of PC RPG games over the years and liked a number of them for different reasons. My guess is that other people feel the same and I am curious about what makes a good game from other peoples point of view. For instance I played and enjoyed Warcraft, but many people don't agree it...
