What's the longest you've ever stayed awake before?
What is the maximum number of hours you've stayed awake before going to sleep? How did you feel, aside from really tired of course ?
Hello nmdonders,
Warning, my answer is going to be very boring: 24 hours was the maximum for me. I just love sleeping and I hate feeling tired.
On that particular day I was at a big rock concert and because of the rain, our tent got flooded and we had to leave earlier. This was the longest journey home I have ever experienced in my life. My eyes kept falling shut, my mood went below the from-here-you-better-watch-out-mark, my head hurt, my brain hurt, my legs hurt, I was hungry, grumpy, tired, tired, tired and oh so tired. I hated every second of it.
Since then I have always made sure that I grab some sleep, even if it is just 10 minutes here and there. Having been in a full time rock band I know what sleep deprivation means. I trained power napping and after a few months I was able to fall asleep instantly, everywhere.

Only 24-36 hours for me. I get really cranky and clumsy when I am tired. My huband went almost all weekend with no sleep when we first met...He even let me take a nap instead!
The longest for me was almost 40 hours. I got up early one morning, then stayed up that night and didn't get to bed until 2 am the next night. Very long day. I definitely started to feel weird and I don't condone doing that.
Well, there have been many occasions, when I had to keep awake for the whole of night. When you become a mother, when you have to look after aging parents, when you have to take care of some sick relative, you have to do that.
Then there was major earthquake in our city and we had been shifted to relief camps. And how can you sleep in such a stressful situation.
Before having children, I thought an all nighter was hard!
After having three children, I can remember days turning into nights that turned into days that turned into nights where I saw the sunrise again. Somewhere in that day I would have to sleep. Nodding off somewhere around dinner time.. right after the kids were fed.
I never kept track of how many hours, just kept going while I was needed.
Cramming for finals my senior year in college. went to bed at 4 am
Woke up at 6am.
Did that for a week but I was younger the so I just went with the flow.
After exams, I slept,
