The answer to this question is not that straightforward as it does depend on the severity of the stroke. For many it may just be speech and language therapy, or a short course of physiotherapy to enable limbs to regain movement. For the unfortunate victims who have the more severe strokes it can mean physiotherapy for a life time just to keep arms or legs mobile enough for them to be able to get around using walking aids. They may need a thickening solution to be mixed with drinks if they have a weakened swallowing reflex, but most of all the patient will require their carers patience and support no matter what level of stroke they have.
Stroke rehabilitation involves proper rest, diet, exercise, care, and physical therapy. If you want to know how stroke is treated with physical therapy, then read Treatment of stroke with physiotherapy here: http://hubpages.com/hub/treatment-of-strokes
