What does happiness mean to you?

We all view happiness differently.  What makes me happy may not make you happy. What is it about your life, you, anything, that makes you the happiest?

Contentment, which comes from within, despite circumstances. Being at peace with God, myself and others as much as possible. I know that's a tall order but reaching that place and when you can resting in - I've done the best I can -  whatever the situation, that's a good place. Family and friends bring great joy. I'm a new grandmother this year and it's wonderful.

Happiness is really a state of mind, not the result of anything per say. In this way just appreciating what we have and what the world offers gives us a constant source of happiness. Life is a miracle and being aware of it from moment to moment is a joy. We have our ups and downs, struggles and obstacles to overcome in life, but it is our attitude that navigates a clear course. Happiness, in the end, is where you find it.

"The cause of all misery is *ignorance...
it is ignorance that makes us hate each other,
it is through ignorance that we do not know eath other."
    Swami Vivekananda

Happiness is being compassionate and kind; accepting everyone for what they are, respecting their believes, even if you don’t believe like them; accepting their race, whatever it is. When you learn to see inside, you will be happy. It is not religion that brings you happiness or believe in a God. It is the understanding of humanity and seeing beyond their surface. M.O.Baum
