Do you think it would be a worthwhile initiative having free eye testing for students?
Seeing as 1/3 children have some form of visual trouble it might be a good cause to improve literacy rates and the overall wellbeing of the child at school.
Our schools in Indiana already have this. They start vision and hearing tests in Kindergarten and continue them through grammar school. Where I think it could be beneficial is to push it more in the middle and high school levels.
In the USofA, we have had this testing in place for years.
Two of my three children wear corrective lenses.........
I received a letter from the school...........your child needs an eyesight evaluation.........your child needs an eye doctor............etc..........
my response...................why the HEY, do you think my child is wearing eyeglasses? She has been wearing glasses since she was 2 years old.........so now, 5 years later, you wish to " advise" me or make me aware?
Do not trust ANY government, to know more about your child than you do.
Just do not do it...........NO governement.
