Ladies have you ever consider the amount of germs that your hand bag or your purse carries?

A visit to the ladies room at a restaurant, at the mall or any other public convenience even the very supermarket counter or the bank.  We use all these public facilities and we tend to rest our handbags on all these counters or on the very floor where we dine.  Well, our handbags ladies takes up all these germs and other bacteria's and we leisurely place our bags on our beds, kitchen counters, etc.
The next time, think about where you may put your handbag and all the uninvited guests you invite in your home.

yes, I'm always careful about where I set my handbag.  Plus from time to time I take the time to wipe it down with a disinfectant like vinegar that won't harm the material of my handbag.

I saw a show once where they swabbed the bottoms of purses and checked for different bacteria etc.  It was truly horrifying and had more germs than toilet seats and meat drippings and a bunch of other things they compared it to.  Purses and sponges in the kitchen were both really bad - good thing we have really awesome immune systems that work to protect us from bad bacteria.

Yes, that's why I never sit my handbag on a table or countertop.  They are germ magnets.

I've never thought about although I never put my bag on the floor in a public convenience. I'm now going to disinfect my handbag.

      Hi Christin53,

No you aren't suppose to put your bag on the floor of public facilities; just resting it on the face basin or counters is enough to pick up all the extra germs you don't need.  Thanks for your comment.

Purses and cell phones freak me out for this reason. And computers! They're the sorts of things people never consider cleaning, but they need it more than anything else!

I sure have and I never rest my purse on a floor anywhere except my carpeted bedroom closet. I keep my bag in my lap or over my shoulder if there is no extra seat when dining. I also keep disinfectant wipes in it and use them whenever needed. Obviously, I am a germaphobe but I am NEVER sick smile

Gosh, I hadn't given it much thought until now, but you're right. I take my bag and leave it down in many places including public toilets. (Yuck). We all spend time cleaning our toilets, counters etc  and keeping our homes as germ free as possible; yet we are bringing millions of unwanted visitors into our homes each day. It really does make you think!
