Do you know anyone who had weight loss surgery and doesn't follow Dr.'s orders?
I know a guy that had gastric bypass and was told not to drink alcohol. He is now drinking daily even though he is weighing less. I have had a boss in the past that lost a significant amount of weight and then continued over eating and gained it all back. Why do people go through the trouble?
I have seen multiple people undergoing gastric surgery for weight loss and gain their weight back. Ultimately it's poor education and not enough reinforcement to get patients to understand that surgery is not a cure all. It can help an individual achieve a baseline to lose weight and keep it off with diet and exercise. However, many either forget or do not know this and can easily undo everything.
