Many holistic doctors recommend lemon water during an acute attack. Drink the juice of a half a lemon, in 8 ounces of water. People who drink lemonade on a regular basis cut their risk by 50%. Gout and kidney stones are closely related. Both are due to uric acid. Holistic doctors recommend, magnesium, as a prevention and treatment. As well as innositol, calcium, and zinc. Calcium, magnesium, and zinc, are sold in a combination form, and may be taken if they are not calcium stones. Lots of water, a diet high in green leafy vegetables, and 3 glasses of orange juice, or lemonade a day are also recommended, to reduce the risk of developing this ailment. read my article on kidney stones. http://artist101.hubpages.com/hub/natur … ney-stones

Prevention is not a remedy, but it does stop you from needing one. And some prevention methods can reduce the magnitude of the problem, once you have it, and help you heal. If you want to know more about how the kidneys work, so you can see how to keep them healthy, read this hub: http://watergeek.hubpages.com/hub/Kidne … e-of-Water
