    The best one is garlic. Eating few cloves of garlic a day helps to fight flue and cold. In addition, rinsing nose with salt water helps.

    Among the most effective antivirals are:
    Olive leaf extract, either in capsule or liquid form.
    Oil of oregano, capsule or liquid form.
    Elderberry liquid, will boost the immune system, and is also anti viral.
    Zinc lozenges, taken at the first sign, will lessen, and even eliminate the viral infection.
    Olive leaf extract, and grapefruit seed extract, sold in combination form, is very effective against colds, as it kills the virus right where it starts, in the sinuses.
