    What do you dream of?

it can be a dream as in what you hope to do in the future...or it can be what you tend to dream about at night

I have incredible dreams and have since I was a child.  My dreams are often comical--I wake up laughing many a night.  My dreams are what inspired me to study Jungian psychology and to write about dream symbolism.  I can't even say what I tend to dream about because my dreams are so varied.  I used to have recurrent tornado dreams (some of my non-comedic dreams) and I do notice a tendency to dream about outer space, stars and planets but they are never foreign.  In fact, I dreamed recently that I was on Jupiter and forewent a gourmet dinner made from exotic Jupiterian plants in favor of eating at a BBQ joint that is local in my town but had opened a branch on Jupiter.  I just had to know what BBQ tasted like on Jupiter.  I also discovered that the branch on Jupiter had a no shirt, no shoes, no service policy when I attempted to enter barefooted.  They did accommodate me though by allowing me to sit outside at a picnic table.  LOL.

The other night I had a dream that Callie (my dog) and I were in the country somewhere and there was a group of people around.  Someone pulled a shot gun and was threatening to shoot my dog because she's a pit bull/mix.  I was obviously not too concerned because I was peeling and eating a red onion as I talked to him about her CGC and therapy certifications.  He settled down and let her jump on him and we went about whatever we were doing out there in the country as I enjoyed my onion.  I have no idea what any of that means.

My dream for the future is to live on the Big Island in a home I've already picked out.  Write a few hours a day and snorkel away the rest, letting the ocean water heal my life.

A wide open house in warm colors with two children and me sitting at my desk watching them play while David cooks in the kitchen. Currently, I'm always at my desk and David constantly cooks. But the rest will come with time. When I dream at night, it's always something my unconscious wants me to figure out. Some I just can't understand though. Oh well.

I do not often remember my dreams, but every now and then I have a dream that is so vivid and so powerful that I cannot help but remember. Truth be known, I have had dreams about people who I have not seen in years, only to see them the very next day.

I remember on one occasion, I had a vivid and powerful dream of me looking down upon a baby boy, who was cooing in his crib. I remember I was holding college books in my arms. Most noticably...there was a powerful feeling of love I had for that baby boy...who was my son. It seems the whole dream was about how much I loved this baby boy.

This dream really perplexed me. I told my mother about my dream and she thought it was strange because I never spoke of marriage or having children before. In fact, at the time of the dream I did not even have a girl friend nor was I in college or even thinking about attending. The apartment in this dream was a place I had never seen before, but there was something about it that was vaguely familiar.

Three years later, I remember leaving for college one morning and I stopped by my son's crib to kiss him goodbye. Suddenly, it hit me like a ton of bricks...THIS WAS THE EXACT SCENE I HAD SEEN IN MY DREAM 3 YEARS EARLIER!!! It was the same room...same baby...same everything!!! I was stunned and shaken.

What shook me up so bad is that it occured to me in no uncertain terms, that this was no ordinary dream...it had been a vision of things to come.
