Why do you think you are here?
What do you think your purpose is in being here on planet Earth, now?
To make the most of the resources I have to take pleasure in the life I have been given, and to enrich the lives of the people around me, especially those who love me, and hopefully those who need some sort of support. That is my purpose in life.
My purpose is to help others on the spiritual journey and path. Helping others to heal, and be a peace maker.
you are asking two different questions, 1 your title 2 your sentence, so... 1. because its exactly what my consciousness is fixated on. 2. to fixate my consciousness on something better
It doesn't matter what you think your purpose is, it matters what you make your purpose to be. The purpose I've chosen is to help others that I come in contact with. Mostly I do this by being in HR and actually communicating with others, many HR representatives I know would never dream of actually sending a message each week to their contacts. They just do their job and go home. But why? By giving others a little light during their day, your day becomes bright too. So I have even made a career based on my suited purpose.
We are here for God's original purpose as stated in the scriptures. Where that purpose was to populate an earthly paradise and enjoy the fruits of that new earth. However as the majority of us already know. Someone by the name of Satan threw a monkey wrench into those original plans and purpose, that the creator had planned for human kind. And it has been disastrous ever since world war 1 took place.
I think I am here to help others see the world as a better place. To guide people to their best lives and to educate and teach others outside what they have ever known.
I am here to be the best human being and "me" I can be and hopefully in the process I can inspire and help others in some way and if I'm really lucky, leave the world a little better than I found it.
I believe in two levels of purpose. For me, we all share a spiritual purpose, to learn to give and receive the Love that we all are and that is All That Is that is fundamentally for the Good of All and completely harmless..
Then we also have a particular purpose, or purposes, which I call Soul Purpose. Some soul purposes last a lifetime, others are shorter. All are about creativity, and service, and being with those (people, animals, plants, ecosystems) we are meant to serve. In my case, at present, it is to Dance Life each moment in Peace and Joy, sharing the Wisdom and Love that are constantly pouring in from above and below, and nature all around, and, in doing this, live an example of a life in creativity and service, showing that all healing is possible, that all success is possible, and that we can all share in Joy and Peace.
Writing is how I let people know that this is what life can be like!
Thank you so very much Sid for an incredible answer and Wow what a life purpose you have chosen to live. All those in contact with you are so very lucky and blessed. What an amazing offering you are giving of yourself this lifetime. Yeah you!!!
Why am I here? My basic answer is because Jehovah created me and sent me here to "work out my salvation with fear and trembling.". Whether I volunteed or was just directed to come here, I'm not sure.
What do I think my purpose is in being here? I am called to bring people into a closer relationship with their Creator. It doesn't matter how much or how little you know about Him, and I'm not going to push all I know on you, I'm just here to show you you can have more of Him. I let you decide if you want to take that one small step closer or not. Another purpose, though related, is to learn what it truly means to love God (Jehovah), myself, and others.
To love God, bring Him glory, honour and praise. Everything else is ancillary to that purpose. We are free to love as He loved us, to live a replete life, to have an intellectual and physcial vigour, and to explore the world that He created soley for us. The world is our gift from God to enjoy, improve, enhance, ameliorate, nuture and cultivate.

Beautiful, knowledge-learning poetry, John, based on the prompt, "Purpose." I loved especially both the first and the last poems and both the quotes. I myself struggle with life purpose a lot. Computer Science is what I have been through a greater part of my life, and then, I took up...
