   This is a really interesting question and it can be taken so many ways (ie: career; philosophically; personal improvement; etc.)
   
   Well, for my career I hope even one tiny little thing that I write can change someone's life even if I'm not considered a successful writer.
   
   Philosophically; I hope to one day completely understand myself and why I do the things I do. A clarity I think I will only achieve on my deathbed.
   
   As for personal improvement; I hope to always treat myself well-something I don't do now, thought not for lack of trying-and with respect by upholding my own personal code of honor to myself.
   
   I really enjoyed answering this question. It took a lot of introspection while we normally-as writers-look out into the world for inspiration.

   As King Solomon said:  Eat Drink and Be Merry.  Nothing else.  But, I prefer to eat with family and knowing that I help others feed themselves, to drink with family and to help others have clean drinking water, and to be merry with family and in some way facilitate the happiness of others.  The others being an extension of my family - the human and not so human race;)

   I would have liked the Nobel Prize in Theoretical Physics but will have to settle for some lesser honour I guess.

    For us it is to leave be happy and go through our lives face problems and progress until the end but the only logical purpose for us being here is there is no purpose we are a mistake or something if there were a being mighty enough to create of for something why wouldnt he just create that thing

    The purpose of this precious human life is to awaken the sleeping immortal, within. This is the child of God. By awakening, we once again walk with God, and live with humble confidence.
    
    Once we've achieved this? These Homo sapiens bodies are no longer of any use to us, like what it said in Genesis 6:3. I suppose then, we'll merely do some creating, like our Father in heaven.

    I believe the only purpose of life is self-definition.
    
    Life give you opportunities to make choices that will define you.
    Everybody whether your are rich, poor, handicap, workers, politicians, and others have to make choices.
    
    Life is full is decisions. They include whether to kill, to flee, to fight, to surrender, to deceive, to give up, to persevere and so on.
    
    Your life will tell who you really are.

    This is actually something that's been on my mind for awhile now. I often find myself in depressing moods pondering my existence and wondering what my purpose in life is. My best guess, or at least the one i hope becomes true, is that I'M here to become a writer and change people's perspective of the world or themselves.

    well to be true, i just turned 14 and my big goal in life is making the most of it. you should not just be laying around on the floor saying you did nothing today, cause tomorrow could be another story. you only have a one life so make it a good one.

    most of us will get to the end and not even be able to answer, "what WAS your perpose in life?",... we can wander in the dark for the answer we might say about ourselves.. but the truth lies in what others might say about us in answer to this question....
    
    wow that was deep, even for a shallow mind such as mine,.. i think i'll have  drink and drown a brain cell before that happens again.

    The purpose of life is simply to live it. We all have a set time that we can't see, so we should make the most of what we have while we have it.
    
    When tomorrow is a maybe, to me the purpose to life is doing what makes you happy while you have the chance. Maybe that's love, maybe that's money; so long as it doesn't come at the expense of others I don't think there is really a wrong answer.

    I like to think my existence is to create and inspire. You know, have an impact/significance on another life (or lives, I'm rather ambitious).
    
    And then, when the expectations I'm given feel so overbearing and I lose track of what I want, I ask myself this:
    
    Wouldn't it be HILARIOUS if God was an existentialist?
    
    Come on, you don't have to believe in a god, or the Christian god to think that's funny.
    
    And, it might just be me, but everything just stops spinning and the world seems funnier than it was and I can go on living with a smile on my face. I'm my own motivational speaker.

    The purpose in my life is the same purpose in everyone's life. It goes along with "What is the meaning of life". I realize that there more that will disagree than will agree with me but that is just the way things are. I believe the purpose of life is to serve Jesus Christ with all our hearts, mind and soul. To do His bidding as He instructs. Stand for and with Him and your right on tract.

    Scientifically speaking, the purpose of life is to procreate and ensure your offspring's survival so that another generation can live and do the same.
    
    Philosophically however, the question becomes much more complicated. I guess its questionable whether there IS a purpose in life.
    
    My purpose? To cultivate my personal relationships with friends & family!
