Beautiful, knowledge-learning poetry, John, based on the prompt, "Purpose." I loved especially both the first and the last poems and both the quotes. I myself struggle with life purpose a lot. Computer Science is what I have been through a greater part of my life, and then, I took up writing self-help eBooks and short stories. I guess I can master both the skills. I can have a rich skillset. LOL! That's how I am silencing my worries and trying to feel good. Here's the link to John's purposeful poetry:

By the way, congrats on your 600th article!

Thank you so much for sharing this, Rosina. I am sure you will master both skills ..computer science and writing self-help books. I am glad you enjoyed these poems to be purposeful. Oh, and thanks for the congratulations on my 600th article...I didn't even realise.

    Hi John,

It's really interesting when I see you re write songs into a version of your own wit, are you also a composer and lyricist by any chance? Love the poems and congrats for making it to the 600th article. Your poems and articles have always been purposeful to us readers.

    Thanks for sharing Rosina.

      Hi Gianella.
I have written a couple of songs (well they were written as poems) but turned into songs and recorded. Thank you for reading and liking these poems, and for the congratulations on hub number 600.

A wonderful set of poems, John. I agree with you that every poem and the poet, in general, has a purpose that can range from entertainment to giving a valuable life lesson to humanity.

It is always a labor of love, with sometimes the readers understanding and sometimes the poet struggling to get his/.her message across. But the reward is worth the pain. Thanks for your beautiful, inspiring words, and congrats on your 600th article.

Thanks, Rosina for sharing John's work.

Ravi, thank you for your generous words and confirmation on a poet’s purpose for writing. Some poetry can be so cryptic it as as if the poet doesn’t want anyone to figure it out.
Thank you also for the congrats.

The message of your poems always comes across, and I must say, that’s not easy to do. Keep up the wonderful work, you are doing.

      Hello Chitrangada.
I am glad you enjoyed these poems and that you find my message clear. Sometimes it takes some rewriting to do so.
600 just sort of snuck up on me…I seemed to be stuck in the 590s for ages. Thank you for reading.

Congratulations on your 600th article, John! That's certainly a great achievement. As always, your article is interesting. I think we have to choose our own purpose in life. I also think that it's important that we do so.

Thank you for always reading my work, Linda. I could have reached 600 a little sooner but deleted a few articles along the way. Yes, it is important that we all have a purpose in life.

Congratulations on publishing your 600th hub, John. My friend is a master of creativity. Beautiful poems; I loved reading them all. Your song is fantastic. I loved it. I also love that song by Justin Bieber. The quotes are beautiful too. I love that you said: my only purpose is to try my best. I think that's a perfect purpose and one that we all should have -- a universal purpose. smile
Thanks for sharing! Have a happy weekend, and keep smiling!

Thank you for sharing John's beautiful hub, Rosina!

    Blessings always!

    John...
    Congratulations on your 600th article!

I'm so glad this prompt was inspiring to you.

In your poem, "Poetry With Purpose" you show us how poetry is a part of your life.

    I love the ending
"I feel like a captive bird
It let's me open up the cage"

This is indeed how many of us feel...and it's great to release those words into the universe.

"My Purpose in Life ~ A Sonnet" shows us we have no need to worry for God is by our side.

Even in our darkest times, we feel the comfort surround us.

In your poem "Purpose ~ An Acrostic" you completely spell out the truth.

Readers really do prefer our sincere emotions.

Your poem "We All Find Our Purpose To Pray"  tells us that when we find our purpose hold onto it tight.

    As we become wiser..we learn.

Let's have no regrets to look back on.

These are all really great poems that show our purpose in life.

I'll post a link in the word prompt article.

    Jodah,
WOW! This poem marched into my orbit and made me think about my purpose in life. Helping those in need is clearly my passion. I do as much as I can even though I am not working. My family, my pets, my writing and photography, and my love for domestic and wild animals.

You are truly a master of poetry.

    Respectfully,

    Bobbi Hunter
